  1. I am a "Home Improvement" kind of guy, so you already know what I use and recommend.
  2. My client's corporate firewall states that this site is not kosher at all.
  3. Not cycling related but still a worthwhile upgrade.
  4. People are taking this ride way too seriously. Double the number of your placing as in reality half the entrants did not even wear a chip.
  5. I got the same ones recently and cannot fault them. I had M975 on my previous bike and I cannot see why I need anything more. They feel very similar and 1-finger stopping power is more than enough for my weight.
  6. Started A7, 3:10.
  7. I am in the same boat. Not going to bother with any name changing, I am just going to ride and enjoy, starting right at the back.
  8. I like the Woolies Espresso beans, similar to what they use in their coffee shops. It is milder in taste than most. I have tried a lot of other off-the-shelf brands and have yet to find something that I really like. Most are good but not exceptional. However, it is best to find a coffee bean roaster in your area that can assist with your taste preference. But do experiment, taste differs or so I have been told. There are lots of good info in this thread and most have been said already. What has worked for myself for a good mild coffee: I set the water temp to 92deg. I use 5-6g per shot. For above amount I set the grinder courseness until I get an espresso volume shot that takes roughly 30 seconds to complete. For an even milder coffee I add hot water to the already brewed espresso shot. It does not come out the same if I set the machine to simply use more hot water. Likewise brewing 2 cups at the same time does not work well with my machine. I guess it simply doubles the beans and water in one go, which does not work well.
  9. Interesting read on Cyclingnews regarding the makers of these drugs and how they manage their sales through rebates, kick-backs and buy-10-receive-2-free mentality. Nothing different from selling potato chips.
  10. R12 a pop is bit much...I consider Illy beans to be expensive, and that works out less than R2.50!
  11. I have 2 comments: 1. His saddle is set too low. 2. Thick mud will have you riding a Surly.
  12. Hi Topwine, this approach was popular in the late 80s or early 90s with the USA bodybuilding community. If I recall correctly it was not as such for fat loss but more geared towards bulking up muscle without getting too fat. IIRC the person who started this was Mauro DiPasquale. He is still around and at least have some practical and theoretical knowledge to back up his claims. There were variations and refinements of this concept by people such as Dan Duchaine and Lyle McDonald. Problem with most of the experiments of that era was the steroid abuse so it was hard to tell whether results were due to the diet or something else rather. Dan was quite a controversial figure and would have fitted right in with the pro peloton.
  13. Woolies currently have espresso beans on special, R38 for 250g. I like a lot. http://imbizo.woolworths.co.za/itb%5CProducts%5CLarge%5C6001009036230.jpg
  14. Feel sorry for caveman but realistically he needed at least a 5min lead into the run to hold off someone like Javier Gomez. Gomez is a class athlete and one of the best swimmers and runners out there. Also feeling a bit sorry for Middaugh; he is so close every time.
  15. World Champs today in MauI. Holding thumbs for the caveman to make it #5.
  16. May we camp from Friday afternoon?
  17. I have had a similar problem, but I suspect mine has more to do with where the calf muscle inserts into the lower hamstring. Hamstring and calf stretching with straight leg and calf raises with straight leg has brought some welcome relief.
  18. Or sport... Crouch, touch, pause, engage.
  19. I had bacon and eggs every morning. Didn't touch any of those sweet stuff at the water points, neither the potatoes.
  20. It was fun to ride the familiar bits in a different order, but the really fun part was that I had my first 3 rides on the alu 29er I bought on Thursday.
  21. Thx, I will pop in there some or other time.
  22. @dracs, what gym do you go to?
  23. I had my Sennheisers refurbished recently. New sponges and cloth covering was about R300.
  24. Sir, you are not making any sense. What we encounter during the first 10km on day 1 is much worse than Breedts. Besides this is Saturday and we only start 6 days later on the Friday. Lots of time to rest, might even get another Breedts ride in after that on Tuesday and/or Wednesday.
  25. That sounds more like a SPL number? Looking for the Ohm value. But if you say you can use it with a phone then it would not be too high I guess. I do not want to carry a headphone amp around, esp at work. Which shops would you recommend to have a good range? (and patience)
