  1. Shaunh, where you get your info from!? That sounds rather peculiar to me...
  2. Which one is that again and which year? I used to ride the Fastback Pro and then the Team (2002 and 2003models) and loved both of them. Generally very nice bikes!
  3. No I got it, just felt that a little bit needed to be added on.
  4. Well put!
  5. Did it hurt?
  6. Easton and Mavic probably your best bet and most reliable. In the end it comes down to personal taste though.. Have two sets of Eastons (training-racing) and love them. Oh of course, Shimano and Campag wheels also worth looking at. Depending on your size, look at stability over minor weight differences. Rather get slightly aero than slightly light.
  7. Just what the doc ordered!!! Now all we need is a road race of a similar calibre so that Roadies in SA can get a first hand look of what goes on in Europe.
  8. Oooi! Howdy. PM on its way.
  9. The first number indicates if it is a tour (2) or a one day race (1). The second number indicates what level it is, 1 being more important than 2. 1.2 or 2.2 ranked events may be entered by club, national, continental and professional teams. Pro Tour not allowed to enter. 1.1 or 2.1 events may be entered by pro tour, pro, continental or national teams. There is a limit on the number of pro tour teams that may enter, I think it is 50% Then there are the Pro Tour events which obviously invite all Pro Tour teams and up to 4 wild card entries for Professional teams. Having the Giro as 2.1 would be a nice, but then only Barloworld and Konica would be allowed to ride... not so cool. Event rankings rarely change unless a lot of money gets pushed in (or taken away). Looking at the number of overseas pro's in the cape, crime is obviously not an issue. What we need in SA are more 2.2 ranked events and some 1.2 ranked events held around the same time so that teams could come over and combine the trips! Now all we need is the $$$........
  10. UK Raleighs are completely different, only share a common name.
  11. The rest of us gotta pay so that he can have all that stuff as well
  12. Niiiice!
  13. You okes seem to have hectic digestive systems! If I were to even attempt to eat/drink all of that sweet and hightly concentrated stuff my stomach would pack up big time... Unfortunately I will be missing the DC once again but I would have had 70% water 30%juice (whatever your poison may be). 4 Gu's mabe two Jungle bars and the rest small Jam sandwiches wrapped up in tinfoil like sweets (easy to unwrap on the go). Anyone making sandwiches do yourself the favour and make sure that they are not dry cause that will make eating it a mission. Coke and water (two bottles for me, not mixed) does wonders at the last feeding station, but not before. Otherwise have a ball! Wish I could join you buggers...
  14. ROTFLMAO
  15. Why are you not interested in the Look's? My shimano's did not last very long (VERY disapointing) and I disliked the feel of the float on the Time's. Am very fond of the last two pairs of Looks that I used. CX2 and Keo

    World Champs

Those were the old rules. These days Pro Continental riders are allowed to race u23 world champs as well, which is really crazy and stupid. That means any u23 riders in Barloworld etc may still do the u23 world champs, like Ciolek. His team is ProConti.
  17. And if you ask pro team STAFF which one is the best, nothing beats the Vuelta
  18. You forgot one widget. The Giro didnt have L.A. The Tour is fashionable and because of that has bigger names. Only reasons why everybody thinks it is greater than the other tours. Vuelta and especially the Giro RULE!
  19. http://www.teambarloworld.com/result.php?l1=2&l2=1 Big ones being Igor at Milan Turin and Gianpaolo Cheula at the Peace Race, both 1.HC ranked events. Cardenas has also been kicking butt in Italy of late.
  20. Depends on what you mean by Major. Well done John-Lee!!! Hope you have a fantastic '07! Craven2006-09-13 02:37:27

Photo? The only way to really tell is by looking at you on your bike.

    Helmets

As said above, whatever fits your head! I find the Bell's to fit perfectly while Giro's just dont sit nicely on my head. Met 5th Element is also a cool lid but in the end it is personal choice. There is nothing wrong with any of those lids that you mentioned. Oh ja, the Atmos has already been replaced by a new higher end model so by buying that you would would be sitting with a 'outdated' helmet in 4 months time... hmmm (Go for the Sweep smileys/smiley2.gif )
  23. Giant would not let him ride any other road frame. The clause in his contract was Apparently allowing Ullie to use anything that he feels would give him an advantage. But Giant would make sure that he never felt the need to replace his road frame. His wheels and TT frame are a different matter though. Although, that was last year. This year he has yet to use anything any different. The TT bike he used to use was a Walser. Most fantastic TT bikes ever (as used by nearly anyone good at TTing, team gerolsteiner, Lothar Leder, Karen Thurig and many more). Made in Switzerland and very expensive! Lots of companies including Trek and Giant have tried to copy the Walser with varying degrees of success. Giant has now gotten it down to a point where Ullie is willing to ride the Giant TT bike instead of the Walser. It took them a while though.
