  1. Thanks Disylizzy, might well take you up on your offer. Nick it's the first I've heard of those guys, to be honest other than CRC I haven't had much exposure to ebay etc so will look into it. Thanks for the replies guys.
  2. Hi, there's an item on ebay I need, can't get it locally, the seller doesn't ship abroad and I can't mail him. Does anyone here have a contact or address in the States who I could get delivered to that can forward the package to me or ideas on how to go about this?
  3. <Me> you say 20% discount and i got home and checked my slip and 0% discount! wtf? <them>the slips dont display the discount <me>im talking about the card slip on the machine or does the abnk "know" about your discount? Do i look retarted? <them>if it was our mistake, my sencere apology! I would be more than happy to refund u ur credit!! Really sori 4 this <me>i will email you the details monday morning WITH screen shots of everything before you say im dishonest! Sorry boet but if someone opened dialogue with me the way you did above I would tell you to piss off whether I am in the wrong or not.
  4. Gave it a bash for about fifteen minutes last night, managed to find the balance point and hover in one spot pedalling to and fro for a couple of seconds ... tricky bit seems to be when you try pedalling and get your cranks to the 12 and 6 o'clock "dead spot" positions.
  5. Thanks for the good wishes fella's, will give it a solid tonk tonight and hopefully be feeling a bit more confident by this time tomorrow. Either that or watch the For Sale section...
  6. I bought a Thomson post (unseen) from him last week, got it for a great price, it was in excellent condition and arrived as promised 24 hours after concluding the deal...very happy dealing with him.
  7. and here's a picture of the broken door handle on the cupboard I crashed into on my first attempt...trickier than I thought!
  8. Careful what you wish for. This arrived this morning.
  9. Get off my bak grammar nazi
  10. Still do when my first camelback runs dry...Shows in my results and my gut as well. The black cat peanut butter bars are good too and a nice size for a chow during riding.
  11. Love those Tenere's, saw one this morning between Stell and SSW around 7H15...might have been you on your way to GB?
  12. Nice pics but where's the new SS? Unless you beat them to the top to take the shot. Got to induce some legburn honking that baby up that hill.
  13. Don't know how you managed to organize that you ride with your buddy while your GF rides with someone else, you obviously have some good negotiation skills. The guy I'm trying to get an entry for the Adventure for is riding with his wife but I'm actually starting to think it'll be more fun as a boys weekend away.
  14. Anyone want to swap an Adventure team entry for my mates Trail entry so he can join us in Adventure? Oops sorry swift just realised we were after the same thing.
  15. My wife goes to the most expensive gym ever, I would not be surprised if it's averaging over R500 a session at the moment.
  16. I went through the same issue a while back...look at City Cycles in Canal Walk. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/107078-freewheel-socket-needed/page__p__1474151__hl__freewheel__fromsearch__1#entry1474151 Alternatively I saw a couple at the Cajees Cycles in the Park Meadows Shopping centre earlier this week...I'm sure they'll mail you one if you wanted.
  17. Very nice Hairy one! Did you buy the Tower from an oke in SSW? Was eyeing his fork. More importantly...how does she ride?
  18. On the SS I use mine all the time when climbing out the saddle, on my Heckler the same thing, I think on longer travel bikes they are even more useful than anywhere else.
  19. Rode the yellow route as part of my commute to work this morning...from Longridge to Stellenzicht probably took around 45 minutes. I expected a mellow cruise through some vineyards but the route was tougher than I anticipated, a couple of short but nasty little climbs. I was on a hopelessly undergeared for commuting singlespeed, from Steynsrust to our offices in Technopark 1H15 in total, I am sure it can be done in an hour or less if you ride a geared bike, eat breakfast and leave the backpack at home.
  20. Eikendal Road is just past Avontuur on the R44 when going from SSW to Stellies. Go up it a kilo or three and Longridge is on your left, it's that mother of a sore tooth blue roof you can see off the eastern side of the R44 which has been so cunningly blended into the backdrop of mountains and vineyards. The Wannabee's website has some detail but no maps. There's talk of a 35km route with 1200 worth of climbing. I've ridden above Ernie Els before and it was steep as can be. It would be great if access can be arranged from Helderberg Farm across to Longridge and then further along to Stellies asing this route, I suspect they are working on it.
  21. I noticed some trail signs and arrows between the Blaauwklippen and Eikendal Roads and was wondering if anyone had any details of what is being planned there? I believe the Wannabee club is involved...all I can say is big up and thank you to the guys that are working on land access in the area as this is going to make my SSW to Stellies commute a lot more interesting.
  22. Gorgeous...I want one!
  23. I had one as well...it was called a KMX and had back pedal brakes. Riding to school I hit a jump in the vlei at speed, my schoolbag had more boost than I did and came up over my head causing me to do a no-hand superman sick air nippletwister landing in a ball of dust, bruise and blood. They sent me home when I eventually arrived at school...hardest wipe I ever had.
  24. Littering is unfortunately not only limited to roadies...went for a spin at Helderberg farm a couple of days after the XC races and the amount of gel packets I picked up on the XC course made my blood boil. Sadly not attending races is not going to change the attitude of those who choose to live like pigs. Fortunately or unfortunately I cannot keep quiet when I see guys chucking their rubbish on the ground...if they take offense I don't give a crap I am not the one in the wrong.
  25. HAHA if you knock Eselfontein you obviously don't know it! Louis Trichardt se moer I've had the misfortune of having to go there for work...no thanks. Stellies would probably get my vote as top venue though I am / was very keen on getting away from all these pubs / chicks / trails and things for a change...speaking of which I'm off to Eden for a ride...Later!
