  1. I managed to get a pair of GP5000 TL and I'm very happy with them.
  2. Are you referring to these ones? http://www.wigglestatic.com/product-media/5360099456/campagnolo-super-record-2015-cset2.jpg?w=430&h=430&a=7
  3. The crank does look a lot nicer than the current 11 speed one
  4. In what way? To me it looks exactly the same as the F8?
  5. My perception is that it would not require much to surpass the existing distributor's offering, be it price, service or availability
  6. Wow, that is pretty, how did you do it?
  7. S-Works Tarmac Di2 Disc 2015 Custom Build as recently spotted at PBP 2015.
  8. Somerset West, the Wanabees have 50km+ mtb trails on our doorstep, road cycling/ training is also good with the R44 to Stelllenbosch and, if weather permits, Clarence drive. I can also recommend Vergezicht school for special need kids.
  9. Some more truth from the another defender owner. "If you listen carefully on a quiet night, you can hear Toyotas slowly rusting in the distance"
  10. 4 Passes is a great ride, but not everyone who can finish an Argus will be able to do it. The actual distance is closer to 130km and the total climb more than double the Argus.
  11. I'm amazed at the negative comments. I'm clearly disappointed, but to blame anyone, except possibly the person who started the fire, is irrational. Whoever thinks that this is cop-out by PPA is clearly ignorant to the logistical issues associated with Cycle Tour, this is not a simple group ride. I'll ride on Sunday to show my support to the brave guys who've been battling the fires in atrocious conditions over the past couple of days.
  12. All ethanol is exactly the same, i.e. C2H6O, furthermore the body metabolizes alcohol and fructose in virtually the same way. E.g. as too much alcohol may lead to liver cirrhosis and to much fructose can cause non alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver, a.k.a. fatty liver or Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. I suggest you have a look at "Sugar: The Bitter Truth" on youtube.
  13. I agree, I'm a paid up member even though I seldom get the chance to ride their routes.
  14. There are many alternatives to CRC, and I have not used them recently. E.g. I have found that bike24.com is normally cheaper
  15. I started the Epic with 2 new ones on my LBS's advise. I had a sidewall cut on the back tire on day 1, changed back to Geax Saguaro.
  16. If you can get an entry I would recommend doing the actual event. It is by far the best MTB race I've ever done. It is mountain biking the way it should be. No GPS is allowed and there is no fixed route/directions other that "keep the sea on the right and try and stay within a km of the coast." You're free to follow your instincts and get lost like you cannot believe, but the reward is experiencing and seeing places that even your fellow participants may have missed. Finally, there is no back-up, i.e. the sweeper is only there to call the helicopter in the event of a serious injury, other than that your "alone on your own, racing the tide"
  17. Comment on step 2, I would suggest you push the piston back with the old pads still in place, this way you won't damage the piston.
  18. I have a set of Elite E Motion Rollers, it is not to difficult to stand on them and it has 3 resistance levels, although I've never used any but the easiest setting. I basically increase the power by selecting a higher gear ratio and/or increasing my cadence. With regards high intensity stuff, I train with a power tap and basically my experience has been that although I clearly cannot achieve the instantaneous peak numbers I can achieve on the road I can get relatively close to my max power as per my max power/VO2 max test results.
  19. I think the 3 biggest advantages with disk brakes are that they: 1.) Offer better modulation 2.) Work with carbon rims 3.) Probably work better in the wet I would have liked to add less maintenance, but in reality I'm on my 3rd Groupset over the past 15 years (2nd was replaced due to an accident) and I've yet to replace a break pad. Having said that I ride aluminium rims. From my experience with mountain bikes I suspect we'll spend a fair bit. Finally, I agree that actual stopping power is not the really the reason for changing, if that was the case they would be bring 203mm rotors to road bikes, which clearly's not happening
  20. I agree the moment we see the Campagnolo prototypes, I'm sure the change would be imminent.
  21. True, I waited more than 2 years for my custom titanium De Rosa to arrive. However, it's unique, built by a De Rosa in Italy and I know that there will not be a new model next year.
  22. I use paraffin to clean and if I want to get it dry quickly, I subsequently wash it with benzine.
  23. Buy with your soul, get Campagnolo, nothing else will look right on a Bianchi
