  1. Ja... I decided to stick to his pedigree name as I couldnt decide. nothing worse than naming your dog Zeus and he ends up being more like Zet.... haha my first male was Rambo, he wasnt a Rambo, he was a clown dog who I still miss. the second dog (bitch) was Xena, my ex wife named her and this was spot on as she was a princess warrior (the dog, not the ex). its been a year since Xena crossed the rainbow bridge and even typing this still gets to me. Quintus was born Quintus, i decided that that is what it will be left at. I sometimes call him Maximus (yes from the movie) because he is afterall a soldier of Rome.
  2. ah ok, I was going to suggest you contact a contact of mine wrt training for PP, but they are in Jozi.
  3. THIS.
  4. Ive only ever been bitten by ridgebacks so im not quite a fan. And im very comfortable around big dogs. But that is just my own experience. Personally i love the allround ability of the rottie and the fact that they are quite powerful and have one of the strongest bites around. I remember clearly the first time i went to a rottie championship show and saw these black and tan powerhouses in action. What was most impressive was how well balanced they appeared when i decided to approach the owners to start a conversation to find out more about them. Of course not all dogs are the same, but that is why it is advisable to buy from a reputable breeder as they generally breed in a responsible manner - generally. Uncontrolled breeding leeds to unpredictable dogs with unbalanced temperament, and that is when you get in trouble. But this is just my opinion, i can only speak for myself. Ultimately, i remember dog names better than human names… ????
  5. He is a rottie when he is not broken yes ????
  6. i think that's what Duane has, might have to scroll back to confirm. awesome dogs, VERY trainable, and the choice of the USMC for a good reason.
  7. are you in Jozi? training a dog for "personal protection" is hard work but rewarding, but what I have been told by some who have more experience than me, is that these dogs can possibly (note POSSIBLY) be a challenge around friends. and of course, never let your fur-buddy sleep outside. I can watch those PP trained dog videos for hours on Youtube...
  8. Not very far… punctured my wheel and spare tube 5kms from my house dammit!
  9. Thats awesome!
  10. Have to say: respect to him for not taking the easy option and getting in the car. He deserves a Bells.
  11. Nic fell early on, finished 40mins after the time cut. https://www.google.co.za/amp/s/www.cyclingweekly.com/amp/news/nic-dlamini-applauded-across-the-line-as-he-battles-injury-to-finish-tour-de-france-stage-nine-over-40-minutes-outside-the-time-cut
  12. the maths is f...ing shocking though...
  13. Amashova Tour anyone? ????
  14. We didn’t hear the Black Caps complaining when they lost the final in 2019 due to an incorrect umpiring decision. They accepted it and went on their merry way. I’m seriously annoyed by this. Jeepers.
  15. So getting to the WTC Final is not a hard grind. What does he want the WC final to be played best of 3 as well? F£& me… what a box.
  16. And no surprises that Kohli complains that the WTC should be played over 3 test matches. And that this loss means nothing to them - the f}%%*ing arrogance of this prick!
  17. YESSSSSSS MAN! ????????????????????????
  18. if you were so inclined you could do ANYHING with him, thats the beauty of the malinois. I've seen people walk them off-lead at the beach and they don't even flinch, they just stick to the heel position no matter what, it was pretty impressive to see. HAHA, sit app pre-installed... thats a good one! PLATS is the only correct command by the way I love rotties and Quintus took a while to "break in", I was worried at one stage as he was simply not giving up pulling me to all parts of the park. But now he is really good specially off-lead, to the point where I can send him out and call him back without fail. He is 3 now so I guess he has matured somewhat. Congrats on the pup, he is really cute, hope you have many happy years together!
  19. I cant even get Quintus to get in the back of the bakkie... HAHA
  20. look, im a rottie kind of a person, but Malinois are extremely intelligent and very capable dogs, AND the "fur-missile" of choice for the Seals. check out Mike Ritland, ex Navy Seal with the K9 unit. its insane how they train those dogs to be combat ready. these pics give me goose-bumps, imagine the level of trust between canine and handler? man thats insane!
  21. nevermind that, does Michael Gough know how to apply the LBW law? WTF?
