  1. Try get hold of Nic Floros - his guys were clearing the route after...
  2. Smile and wave for the camera ... see u out there! (Guess I better think about starting to pack shouldn't I!)
  3. I use PVC tape from Waltons... 2 layers cos its thin, and less failures than stan's so far! (Some over a year old now!)
  4. What bike / wheel was that off? Seen 2 of the same hub do that recently! - Alleged theory is that it is old OEM stock that was not designed to withstand the larger forces of bigger wheels (But in my opinion just rubbish to cover themselves cos they messed up in QC)
  5. From the ZTR site - not yet updated with 650b, but likely same scenario! "WTB TCS and UST 29 inch tires are too tight for Stan's Notubes rims and NoTubes licensed rims such as Sun Ringle Black Flag."
  6. From SRAM themselves on their rear deraileurs... 3 cage lengths available: short for DH, medium for 2X10 and long for 3X10 So you should prob use a medium, but long will work as well.
  7. I have used the Cane Creek one before - got it from the lbs. Worked well.
  8. Surely they would sell more with just keeping the wheels both 650b??? Cos then it might actually a pretty cool, fun bike! Cos that 29er front ain't gonna like the switch backs we tend to enjoy!
  9. From the 2014 KZNMTB Calendar... 9-11 May Fri-Sun SAPPI KARKLOOF CLASSIC (World Championship Qualifier for Masters 30+) So I presume you have to ride this to qualify? Not sure if there will be other events around the country?
  10. It was all the press images from masters worlds... the only way they could run a 22 page feature it seems!
  11. Ah - so this is why they were begging me for pictures!!!
  12. @Deanbean... if you ask nicely I may have a spare, slightly used pair of white fleegles (they sitting in my parts box doing nothing!)
  13. Heard some stories about steri nappie - haven't tried myself. Otherwise Powasol - its a non-caustic soil dissolver - supposedly works as well.
  14. Velo Life in Hillcrest should have their demo Selle SMP test saddles by now...
  15. They are more trail wheels compared to the American classics... Hubs are awesome and roll beautifully. Come with all the adapters for front and back, so better compatibility if you change frames!
  16. I'm running the ProLite Aragons, and really loving them! Light enough to race (did full Hill2Hill on them) but strong enough to handle anything Cascades PMB has to throw at them! http://prolite.co.za/product/1855/
  17. Have to agree on the 26" Momsen... just got one for my 8yr old... makes a great foundation for upgrading... I think they advertise std retail at R4250 http://www.momsenbikes.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&layout=item&id=262&Itemid=582
  18. It can also be because the tensioner tends to push the chain down, and there is not enough chain 'wrap' around the back cog - this normally causes some slip if not set up properly. Seems like you have found a solution though...
  19. Pevensey Place...
  20. I do remember Schurter saying that the 27.5 that they ran in Epic this year made things a lot harder - they struggled to keep up on the flat open sections! I ride both - 29er as SS currently and a 650b 140mm dual sus trail bike. For the tech riding the 650b is great, but the 29er wheels suit marathon stuff better! Why choose one when you can have your cake and eat it!
  21. Ran the Zee rear derailleur on my hardtail for Sani - worked perfectly! Currently have it on an enduro bike, and still no hassle! What is great (even with the wide ratio) - the cage is really short - so less likely to catch on stuff!
  22. Found this the other day... https://www.facebook.com/XFusionShoxSouthAfrica?fref=ts Should be able to get you in touch at least.
  23. Not quite - in a school, but my job is to fix the 'broken' ones, or rescue them from the broken teachers
  24. I'd rather not actually work out how much I spend on my bikes etc! But working in a high stress / exceptionally draining environment daily (The day job specialises in fixing the human misery of the younger generation), it is worth every cent for my sanity and the escape it provides!
  25. Thanks to The guys at Tread, my one of good ol Dr Fick from worlds is quickly becoming a classic
