  1. Sadly not as much as one would hope for as the parts and tubing aren't top spec on the old Rapports. Once cleaned up and if it has no major rust, you'll probably get between R2000-R3000 for it.
  2. I wasn't aware there was a Gravel "season" in SA. Surely if we race XCM all year around then we can race Gravel all year around? Case in point being Attakwas which was the WC's first XCM race of the year.

  4. Not sure the WP is continuing with it this year. I was hoping to race it as an age grouper but no dates have been released yet despite the dates for the XCO and XCM being made public.
  5. This is just more proof that syndicates are involved in the bike jackings and theft.
  6. Out on the MTB in Bottelary Hills this morning
  7. The lifetime guarantee on the frame was also attractive to me, I seem to make a habit of cracking mtb frames 🤙
  8. If that's your price range, maybe consider the Orbea H30 from CWC's, they had them on a special a little while back. I've been very happy with mine so far and I've had it just over a year now 🤙
  9. Congrats to all those who finished the race in those conditions. This race would be tough on a perfect day, add in the weather and you have an extreme event. Kudos galore 🤙
  10. Some great routes North of Stellenbosch. I can get you onto gravel 9km's outside of the town already and you can easily ride a 100km loop from up towards Riebeek Kasteel.
  11. The baguette is a new one, normally it's bananas and Bar Ones, a common sighting at the Argus (CTCT) 😄
  12. Ooh Phok... that can only end badly 😆
  13. I've also only had great service from them, great bunch of guys as well with a passion for the sport 🤙
  14. He sounds like pretty much every cycling friend I've ever known... Work hard... Play harder... he can come braai at my place any day 🤙😄
  15. I'd rather be there right now 🤙
  16. So would I, as I too ride that road often. These types of incidents need to get nipped in the bud quickly otherwise they simply escalate out of control very quickly. Houtbay is an example of that.
  17. Early morning through the Bottelary Vineyards with my young training partner 🤙
  18. I've been to almost every Epic, only once as a rider/racer and all other times in some assisting capacity, mostly as a camera biker. I've managed to avoid the sh*ts by just keeping a very careful hygienic protocol. And we eat the same race food, sleep in tents and use the communal toilets etc. For that week I carry wet wipes on me permanently and use them like a paranoid mother wiping little Johnnies hands. The first race post covid saw most of the feeding stations having the food prepacked to avoid contamination but I'm unsure if it will be the same now as people have relaxed a lot.
  19. Stay away from any food that's open and communal during the stages, especially boxes of jelly babies, baby potato's etc at the water points. Riders are wiping snot with their gloves and grabbing handfuls of food out of those boxes. Go for food wrapped in plastic rather or take your own nutrition. The communal toilets... wrap yourself in cling wrap before going into one of those and cut a hole for your ass. Then wash yourself in Detol when you come out. Best tip is just be aware all the time and keep your hands out your mouth and nose. Start a course of Probiotics a month before you come over to strengthen your gut immunity.
  20. Show us photos of the Colnago Classic 😁
  21. 16 500 km's on my Giant Anthem before the frame cracked. Countless more on my steel classics.
  22. I heard the same thing, the rumour mill has been spinning.
  23. This really is great news for Matt and long overdue for a man of his talents. I'm super glad he's finally getting the recognition and international support he so richly deserves. Expecting great things from him this year based on how hard he's hitting his training. Follow him on Strava to see his training camp distances in the Cederberg in Dec... eye watering stuff Here's about the only thing he and I had in common last year ☺️
  24. It's the most unassuming little coffee shop you can imagine but boy do they pack a punch when it comes to quality. Their toasties are great as well. Check them out on FB, I think they deliver beans as well 🤙
