  1. Thanks for the feedback. Size is the big snag in finding 2nd hand. I ride a XL (56cm) Frame, finding one 2nd hand is a mission, and those 2nd hand are gernerally more expensive as they more "rare". I shall try nonetheless, and will of course put up the mandatory pics, and incl couch if needs be
  2. Was Riding a Raleigh RC6000, but i can afford to push the wallet a little more this time round
  3. End of May i was taken off the Road Bike courtesy of a speeding W@anker in a Corsa. **** You Asshole, wherever you are! Now that i am finally healed up, and injuries are ok, its time to get a new road bike, as the last one was totalled. So here is the drill: My Budget is Maxes out at R19k Min specs would be 105 groupset. So what to buy now? Checked the Bicyling buyers guide, spoken to my LBS, and still confused. Are the Spez's at this level any good? I see a 'dale at this level, as do i a pinnarello. Not a brand slt at all, but my giant Mtb is great, and my previous raleigh road was good. Advice please, looking forward to droping some loot for the new beast!
  4. I've been toying with the idea of buying a road bike for some, and have decided its about time now, will still keep the MTB, but want a mix. So im not too clued wrt road bikes. I've been looking at the Felt F85, which appears to give really good value at R12.5K its got 105 Components, and seems reasonably well specced, Does anyone round here have any thoughts on the Bike? Quality, value etc? Also what should i be considering with a budget of Max 13K? looking preferably to new, but not completely closed to used albeit, max 18mths old Advice would be most welcome. PS Happy Easter peeps!!!
  5. Cat Eye, is distributed by CoolHeat, i am pretty sure. Currency has gone to hell, so an increase is expected, not sure if 100% is in line, but it is due to currency
  6. Each to their own, but holy is right they suck esp in the wet or mud
  7. I learnt the hard way, they get itno your gear cable housing and cause prem wear, stay away from the high pressure ones, but you will be fine with your normal gardena jet nozzle.
  8. JB, if you reading this; can we book bikes in for service with you? dont shoot me my bike has mavic's
  9. Looki, i wqould happily pay R250 -350 bucks labour on my bike for fitting of parts, but i cannot justify a 500 price difference on a Cranset which costs me R1400 at one shop and R 1900 at the next. Thats just me. Maybe i need to go on a bike Mechanic and repair course.
  10. I just wish that there was a bike shop which was not a rip off, but knows how to fit parts well, and make them work first time. When that shop is found i will be happy. The shops will get miff if you bring them parts and ask them to fit it. I dont take my steak to the restruant and ask them to cook it. Sucks, but sometimes i feel that you just need to pay the extra bucks for the peace of mind.
  11. No Problem at all, however, it would be cheeky to take components to a bike shop and ask them to build it for you. Not gonna lie, i've been tempted to do this as my LBS is pricy, and cajees and solomons are clueless about fitting parts
  12. 15 pages....... 30 pages....... 45 pages.......
  13. @ Jason, keep em coming
  14. OOOOhhh temper temper. i leave for 20 mins to find coffee, and you throw a tantrum, im guessing its best you dont have acess now, let the mist dissapear, see the threads. Oh, HTFU, this is the hub. take it on the chin

  16. Not gonna lie to you. That is bike P0rn right there
  17. Avg Speed, R too much for this East Rander.
  18. I had similar issues. Try to "flush" the brake out. By this i mean spray some cleaner benhind the pads, the pistons may be sticking and not fully retracting, if that makes sense. Or else, i am Sure, JB will have the answer in a sec. Oh and, i feel your pain, its the most irritiating thing. PS: why do you even need brakes, you are WW
  19. Like some of the others here, im on a Larson 2.0 at the rear and a Cross Mark 2.1 upfront. Only thing is the Larson is Hopeless in mud
  20. They are good allrounders and you can corner with them at phenomenal pace. I ride a Cross Mark and Larsen TT Combo
