  1. Stadium was a lot more full for the previous 2 semis we had at home. Sad. Good vibe though, unfortunately left before the activities on the field after the game. Just a big cost to go visit NZ to watch the final. Mates with SA passports have to wait 3 weeks for a visa. Thats also assuming you can get a ticket in their little stadium. sales start 12 pm tomorrow NZ time. Think i will watch at home.
  2. So the scale of the elevation profile is pretty much 1:1 on the screen.
  3. So not _________________/\________________________________________ Been a while since i did this one Looks like i will be wearing the closed gloves again at the start......
  4. Which day the rains fall and if it affects the trails you are on at that point........
  5. Um, a bit boring if you ask me for a marathon. District roads were not a lot of fun and there were a lot of them, i can do that on a training ride (a lot of smooth farm track as well). Difficulty, um about 4.5/10 if i compare my hairiest ride being the Van Gaalens marathon about 3 years ago. Only one technical section (really) which was the rocky descent, got stuck behind some guys and sat there for a while. Announcer definitely trying to justify our entries. I hope the last couple of races in Gauteng are a bit better with more single track.
  6. Pentium..... ? LUXURY. We used to gather round a EGA on and XT(with turbo button) to play strip poker with Candy
  7. "Those" tapes with serious damage in places due to excessive pausing.......?
  8. The reason i moved to an expensive garmin edge (not supported by healthy gear benefit ......) was to get around the Polar problem. Polar are shutting down the interweb site where i can upload from the device directly to their web site without me being able to edit the data on the watch. Unfortunately if i want to keep using the 800CX in 2019 or 2020, I will need to upload the data from my watch to the Polar software loaded on my PC. Then from the PC (with a polar update loaded) you can upload to the Polar Flow site. Unfortunately Discovery note this data comes from a source that can be edited (PC based data) and rejects any workouts from the PC based Polar software. The 800 CX can not upload directly to Polar Flow due to outdated technology (Infra red data transfer) Possibly the Suunto has a similar data process that is followed.
  9. What time did your nightclub close, 3 am?
  10. Punishers came past me at the first climb up to the Redhill school sports centre. The lead motor bike had a fun time trying to get his bike through those obstacles. The sloot was a little rough for the taller people, my neck hurt at the end of the Anatomic tunnel (which was one of the bigger roofs), but hey there you go. At least the light gave me some confidence i was not going to decapitate myself at that drop off in the tunnel. Liked the single track in the koppies and had saved some matches so was nice to cycle all but 1 place where the guy in front of me had to stop due to poor line selection. Sorry to the guys further back with bottle necks but was clear for me. One moment of unusual interest entering the first tunnel below Ememerntia where nearly saw my ass on the concrete after the metal grid drop in. Took all tunnels easy from there. Very nice beer at the end. They should have had a photographer at the ramp at the end of the sloot next to the M1 section by Innesfree park, got some nice air there (unexpectedly as i was motoring) Will enter Punisher next year as i will be fitter.......
  11. Maybe not quite that much Ok will take the light
  12. Clockwise route for 54 km. The profile is def the wrong way. Do we really need lights or is it overkill? 2.5 kg of battery I dont really want to lug around
  13. email from Jumpertrax
  14. Signed up for JUMA after saying i would not, not very fit right now but i should be good for a reasonable ride. Been seeded in Batch A for the 50 km. Either SAS like me a lot from my old cycling times 3 yrs ago, or the seeding is a bit skewed due to low entry numbers. I guess there will be a lot of people unclipping. PS i do not intend unclipping at every 20 cm drop off as i have found in other races.........
  15. what direction does the route go? Old pics on website seem to indicate clockwise, but the map on the website has marshal points number anti clockwise.
  16. between the other two blue dots and the green line.......... No! Crappy images they stored in the site as well. Was hoping to see if he left the key in the ignition so it can drive itself into the nearest river or concrete barrier (in space of course)
  17. Slowbee, your site sux. Where is Musk's Tesla?????
  18. Go the Irish.......
  19. Weren't there musings earlier/elsewhere about the state of Trailseeker etc as far as financial status was concerned? Web sites changing, other linked series no longer around due to no sponsors. Seems like things are a little more tough out there. Not wanting the race fee to go up being a concern for me, i would still want a bit more post race services such as (cold) real beer....
  20. Yup, seems i was not loved on the day either, no results.... Dear Jumpertrax....
  21. Fair comment, but to me a packed stadium is over 70%. Most are more than that (well the games I have watched). As for freaks teeing off from the 10th, it seems to keep the crowds coming which is always good. In my youth ......... i was still cr#p. PS any cricket is good cricket. But my wife might disagree.......
  22. T20 might not be cricket, which i kind of agree with, but the stadiums are always PACKED at IPL. We have not seen that here in SA since the Benson and Hedges days. We all too comfy in our couches to get to the ground which is sad
  23. Camera operators in SA just plain better than those in Aus for the Ashes series. My opinion is that the Ausies have just finally been caught. They and a LOT of others did it without being caught. I am still bitter about the RSA sides and their numerous cheating fiascos over the years, from the vakansie to Gibbs who "forgot" to cheat. My big problem is the kids who idolize these sports players and then get massive disappointment handed to them by greed. Rant off.
  24. Lets hope we have a rain favoured D/L result vs India. Its about time we benefited from a rain affected game. Gonna be an even tougher game.
