  1. Thanks Ali! I'll see you guys on Saturday, bar any issues. Thanks for the info! Joss
  2. Also one important thing to remember is that you stand up frequently while on the mtb. If cyclefit didn't recommend a different saddle, then stand uo more often on the road bike, shift around more while sitting, and always use chamois cream to prevent chafing
  3. I actually got chills watching this. Scary how desensitised we've become to living our beehive existence.. Really is time to ride more. Not to race, but to be free more often.
  4. Thanks for the replies guys... I think I'll try take a ride with them on Saturday, and see what the vibe is like! And 1100 doesn't sound too bad... Fabs, the website says fees are as follows for new members: 800 for shirt only, 1100 for shirt and bibs... Keep the responses coming though! Is definitely interesting! I guess at the end of the day, I'm just looking for no nonsense group riding... Sock of trying to arrange people and their piss poor excuses for not pitching, coming late, etc.... So, ill hopefully see some, of you there this weekend!
  5. The construction is completely different. Some say the tiara will last longest, but is the heaviest. It depends what you want tho. I ride a 105 because it was cheaper than ultegra, and I wasn't too concerned about weight. My broke friend rides tiagra, cause he spends the least amount possible If you're just a weekend warrior, go for tiagra.... I'll probably do that next time around....
  6. Search Flyxii fr322. My Chinese frame looks super close to this.
  7. Shimano tiagra has indicators too. That's a road gruppo
  8. So, I'm tired of doing the long warrior thing, and thinking of joining the Cyclelab joburg club. I've rode with the for sections on cradle rides on the odd occasion, but want to know a few things: 1. How is the general vibe within the groups? Would probably look at the 26-30kph groups... 2. Is the 1100 worth it? What's the quality of the bibs they give you? Shirts are shirts so not too worried, but what do the race tents do? 3. Does joining the jhb club mean I can ride with the fourways and Boksburg guys? I'm in the middle of both but prefer the cradle, but would like to know if I have the option anyway. 4. What's their deal with people trying out a ride? Snobby? Or is everyone relatively friendly, even though I'll just be taking a look? Any other experiences, anecdotes, or warnings, please add here! Thanks!
  9. It's a funny world, isn't it? I would freaking kill to have this problem.... I eat a jelly bean and my ass jiggles for like a week. Seriously losing weight is so close to impossible, even when I'm super disciplined and train regularly... But, enough jealousy... Good luck man! Hope you beef up quickly!
  10. South Africans - so used to being the underdogs, they're the only ones we know how to support...
  11. How many descents do we have in sa that are that long?
  12. Not to add any fuel to a silly fire, but I struggle with EIA. I ride with an inhaler. Not so I can have an advantage, but so that i don't suffer from an unfair disadvantage. I train hard, work hard, and still struggle to breathe properly without it. If St's positive for something, nail him, but otherwise, leave chris the hell alone.
  13. Yup! Dishing was out on both back wheels. Anton checked them out and said they just need a good tensioning of spokes and truing, which I'm glad I can be sure if when they come back from summit. Glad I went with anton. What a freaking cool guy!
  14. Thanks for the replies guys, got sorted by wyatt earp at summit cycles! Seriously awesome guy, and incredibly awesome shop. Kinda annoyed with myself that ive not been there sooner!
  15. Thanks for the confirmation guys... Sad to lose the talent!
  16. That's what I feared...
  17. So, don't know if this is the right topic, but just wanted to know if anyone knows if Johan is still around? Not on the hub, but physically in the country? Have a wheel build which I would like to contact him about... Heard he was helping out at cycle lab but not sure if he's still there? Help is appreciated!
  18. Or one who understands cycling very well, and is paid well for the mistakes by MTN... But for reals. They've done it once already, surely they should nave sorted it out so that no second time would happen? Schmucks...
  19. Cape union mart have merino base layers as well...
  20. I don't have enough expletives for scumbags like these... The brazen Bastard. Glad he got the bike back and these douchebags are in some trouble...
  21. Anyone struggling with pains and numbness, whether in hands or Gooch or feet or knees or back, I suggest the most valuable solution: Get a proper bike fit! Cycle fit in randburg have been the best money I've spent on my bike. I know I punt them a lot on the hub, and am not associated in any way, but that's how much they've improved my riding experience. A fit is like 700 bucks, and honestly is the best money you'll ever spend on that bike. Just do it. You can thank me later.
  22. My insurers required a bike shops assessment to ensure actual ownership and appropriate value. I was surprised, as I would have assumed a much smaller amount than was given by the shop, but everyone was happy once it was forwarded. I also required a photo of all the stuff I insured. I was very grateful for the bigger issued amounts when it came time to claim!
  23. Ha.. This is like online dragons den. Good luck Bro! But, I'm out.
  24. Something is very wrong in South Africa, when Italian customer service is better...
  25. Just make sure the clamp fits the rails. Most times the carbon rails are ovak shaped instead of round, and some load clamps don't fit and cause issues. Ritchey have a carbon specific clamp for carbon rail saddles due to this, so do make sure before you ruin something.
