  1. Getting side tracked here, but one of the hitch hikers was murdered last year and the other didn't show up for her day in court to testify against the two guys, so they were released. When I read that I really had to question what the point of anything is anymore - police, judicial system, crime and punishment... After getting caught red handed for murder these guys are walking free. I mean WTAF. And I live just around the corner, so all of this is fantastic....
  2. Just go to GRTP for three days. Sorted. Although, there's also Harkerville...
  3. It may sound stupid, but is the cable routed correctly on the right side of the pinch bolt on the derailleur? I've seen an SLX 12sp routed the wrong way and it gave issues but also generally worked. A quick switch around of the cable and it was 100%
  4. This is the first I'm seeing about the R1000. Didn't know anything about that. At the end I was fan viewing the front guys watching them dice for the line. When I came back I saw that I was closer to you than I was before, but I thought to myself "seventh or eighth, who cares" and I saved some legs for my next ride. Maybe I should have been more focused and pushing, but I was happy with top 10 anyway.
  5. You finished just in front of me - I was 8th. Those front two were pushing mega watts the whole way. I could only sustain that pace for about a kilometer
  6. Did anyone else do the Zwift ride yesterday? The 'no draft' was unexpected and I wish I hadn't slowed down in the beginning to let the chasing group catch up to me. They provided no help at all After that it was a solo run through to the end. Good little workout for the legs.
  7. Going for the third option here... Have you loosened and re-centred the brake caliper?
  8. Tryptech https://www.triptychresources.co.za/bicycle-transfers You won't find a better (or cheaper) option. I've used them many times and their service has always been perfect.

  10. Blue Valley Avenue is my favourite Hout Bay hill. That's a serious piece of road and a serious granny gear is needed
  11. I've been on fibre for a while (in CT) and have not had one single drop or downtime at all. Not even a blip. It's consistently speedy irrespective of time of the day/week/whatever. Laying of the lines was a different story - same as everywhere, the contractors hit every water main and electrical connection that they could
  12. In a word - yes. I had a long term 'borrowing' of a Wreckoning with a Push coil rear shock and top drawer everything else and it was simply sublime. It gave so much confidence to charge over whatever was in its path. That bike dominated the trails. I've also ridden the Following and it feels similar but so much more playful. Absolutely love Evil
  13. Ooh, two up on a tandem on the trainer! That's something I've not thought of before. Would be interesting to see the final drive power.
  14. Get an Evoc bike bag. I've used a few different bags for international travel, and the Evoc is the one I'd recommend. I've travelled with a road bike, but usually take my MTB. Fits both with no problems and I've never had a problem, even when I've seen the bag getting thrown around outside the plane...
  15. I'd just like to ask why you chose the bike which nobody recommended (in terms of model or frame material)? Not trying to be facetious, I'm genuinely interested.
  16. Ooh, I've not seen this thread yet. I'm in the same boat and also have a lekka Cotic frame (found on the Hub for a steal and bought it without knowing what I would do with it) which I'm turning into a hashtag enduro hardtail I've been getting a few parts together for it and it's starting to resemble a bike now. Ohlins RXF 36 fork, Industry 9 Torch hub, XO cranks, 35mm KS carbon bar and stem, TRP G-Spec Quadrium brakeset and a dropper. I need to get some rims now and I'm thinking Nextie as I've been really happy with them on my XC bike over the last two years. The frame has been powder coated a nice cyan blue and looks brand new but doesn't have any Cotic decals on it. Where can I have these made?
  17. Cancel the DSTV and use the money saved to get fibre. You won't look back.

Did you see how the team were celebrating in the garage when Olivera crossed the line in first?! They must have had the biggest party on Sunday. Felt so happy for the team to finally get he win, and Herve seems like such a good guy

I was on the fence about Zarco's incident last week, but after the BT Sport explanation I feel sorry for him, especially with how well he rode during qualifying. And that delayed start for him was really not called for. Bad enough starting from the back of the grid... I can't even comprehend jumping off a bike moving at 235km/h What a season it's been so far! The championship is wide open
  20. I got a package from Italy a few weeks ago via DHL. Took less than 24hrs to go all over Europe and make its way to JHB, then another three days clearing customs and less than 18hrs later I had it in my paws. All in, five days from when it was dropped off in Italy until I had it in my hands. Fresh enough that the news in the newspaper the thing was wrapped in was still relevant. If I could read Italian...

Marc only needs to put in a few fast laps a day to be in Q2. He knows the track as they've literally just been there. So maybe not that much strain on the arm? Race day is a different story, but by then he'll have had many days of recovery...
  22. I was jumping at Black Hill recently doing ok-ish and clearing the things I was trying. Then Chris Nixon gave me some pointers to make me better. From then on every jump got progressively worse until I wasn't even getting the set up jumps right I got too much in my own head. Flow, be smooth, keep practising. It'll all come with time.
  23. Yes, the Wahoo strap can be paired up. That's how I use my Lezyne GPS - with the Wahoo strap.
  24. My lens is on its way already. Great service so far, I'll test out the lens when it arrives and if I remember I'll report back
  25. Thanks, I need some new lenses for mine so I'll try them out.
