  1. Speak to Keith, he's done like 20 of them. Maybe he has some info for you
  2. Hi John Welcome to SA and welcome to the HUB. It's marketing nonsense. Often retailers will put a product on special for the exact same price as it was before (not only in the cycling industry). They just want your money and use various methods to get you to give them your money. Don't let it get to you - life is way too short for that. Like you said, with a few clicks you can have a number of prices for the same product. Focus on the bottom line price and move on. There are some online guys on the hub, evo cycles, buy cycle. Have't had any problems with them.
  3. You still a machine !! I bombed at Shova and you had a good race even though you rode down. I had a good 94.7. This year the hills didn't feel too bad. I remember last year going up Hyde Park and suffering, this year it was over so quickly. Needed this result to build some confidence again. Shova was crap (for me), Carnival was seriously tough so this time it was 3rd time lucky
  4. But coffee rides with your mates are lekker. One day when I'm strong enough to keep up with you I'll join you for a coffee ride. Did you drink enough ? (I don't mean tequila the night before)
  5. Just shave your legs, arms, etc - you'll be more aero and much faster.
  6. I've also done that Virgin trick but normally I park in the shopping center parking and walk. Did you remember to get my number ? (your house is a lot closer than the Dome ?)
  7. Still a bit early. Wait for this afternoon.
  8. Received the same message via WhatsApp. Suppose that we'll only only if it's true on Saturday / Sunday.

Thanks. Very hot with a dash of wind. With a tail wind to the finish line Seems they going to be selling a lot of beer.

anyone able to give a weather update ?
  11. Great stuff. You have to embrace the mobile devices otherwise you'll become forgotten. Personally I think it would be great if you could publish the useless data stats (what phone, OS, etc) on a monthly or bimonthly basis. Just for interest sake. Then we'd also be able to see who's spending all their time on the hub instead of riding their bike (and I could negotiate with them for bike parts instead of phoning their boss) Keep up the good work !!!!
  12. Frosty's club collects cycling goods for development riders but they in Germiston.
  13. I'm going to come past your house so your wife can pick my tiles. I've only ever gotten 1 x Diamond and mostly 25's or 30's.
  14. Bought lots of stuff from AliExpress. You get what you pay for. If you pay a bit more then you get decent kit. My last order was here in like 2 - 3 weeks.
  15. As already said, go onto YouTube. There are piles on videos on there. GCN has many options.
  16. Go to bidorbuy - plenty 2450 batteries on there (from local suppliers)
  17. I also use a Quarq and I've never had any issues. Quarq (SRAM) has bought PowerTap so now they are the same company.
  18. what time frame are you talking about ? 110km on road is much quicker than 110km on MTB You should have enough glycogen for 2hrs then you'll have to have some carbs to continue. Obvious you want to avoid bonking so maybe starting eating something 1.5hrs into the ride. 32Gi Endurance works great for me. A bottle with that and 1 x Farbar per hour should be more than enough.
  19. Data mining is a lot bigger than any of us can imagine. The big 4 banks in SA also have majority of their clients details, they tell you what you going to do before you do it. We becoming robots.
  20. At lower power I'm about 50/50 but as soon as it gets harder then it's more like 53/47 Somebody has told me that my left leg is more dominate because from a young age I (we) are taught to put our weight on that leg so that we can kick a ball with the right foot (obviously if one is right footed). Now that I'm cycling I'm still prone to put more weight on my left leg hence the imbalance. Don't know how true this is but it makes some sense. Mine is worse if I stand and pedal, then my left leg is very dominant.
  21. I've brought in a set and my son has brought 2 sets (2 sets are integrated and 1 set is normal bars) The normal bars were the cheap ones but nothing wrong with them. Have seen the exact same bars for sale on the hub with a BIG mark up.

    Audax

If I could keep up with you, I'd be tempted to give this a go but it might be way too much for me as a fun rider Obviously my plan would just be to sit on your wheel, otherwise I might go straight instead of turning right - again
  23. Take it to Garmin and if they can't do a quick fix they should offer you the 820 for a fee (about R2k). Just keep your paper work for the 820 because majority of the people that have 820 units have taken them back a few times.
  24. This pick a tile game doesn't work for me. The best tile that I've picked was 30 points, the rest have all been 25 points. No diamonds ever !!!
