  1. I looked around on the threads, but could not find one dedicated to interesting wines. I'll kick things off then. So much interesting wine out there, and I am always looking for undiscovered gems. Not meant to be a wine snob thread this, but rather one to discuss interesting/tasty/valueformoney/unique wines at any price point. Here is my Sunday drink which I got from Longridge in between the two lockdown stretches. They had a special of a free case of their Chardonnay when you buy two cases of this one. A wooded Sauv Blanc is not that common in SA, but this one is really amazing.
  2. I am not a runner myself, but stumbled upon this documentary movie yesterday. Not sure if it was mentioned here before, but definitely worth a watch. Never heard of the Barkley Marathons, but it seems intriguing. "Where dreams go to die":

    Pulling John

A bit of an obscure sport (arm wrestling), but I quite enjoyed this documentary movie. Anyone who dominates his sport for close on 30 years should be more famous than this. John Brzenk does not even look that impressive for an arm wrestler, but he destroys guys much bigger than himself. Worth a watch on a lazy Sunday. https://youtu.be/TJTZAd4l590
  4. I’ve tried Spaz 2FO and they were not wide enough for me. They were also very bulky in my size. Felt like a hiking boot. Northwave is a good fit for my size UK12 wide.
  5. Looking forward to Eddie vs Hafthor. Eddie has shown that if he puts his mind to it, he can do anything. To be a top class swimmer and then switch to world strongest man (and win the bloody thing) shows what kind of man he is. Who knows, he might be damn good at boxing by the end of the year as well. Hafthor on the other hand grew up on an island of strong men so always only wanted to be one thing.
  6. Very sad. My wife was giving me daily updates on the search for Harvey from Facebook. Ever since Jay Pritchett got Stella I’ve been on the hook for a Frenchy. RIP Harvey Another “famous” Frenchy passed away recently as well. “Drama” from the Seth Bike Hacks youtube channel.
  7. Thanks for the heads-up. My daughter is into all things metal (she even get specific about the sub genres of metal). She enjoyed it very much and her old man was the one to tell her about it!
  8. She had a fire in her eyes that scared me a bit. I said to my wife that I definitely don’t want to get on her wrong side....
  9. The dirt he had on powerful people is just one piece of the puzzle. You add to that all the coincidences around his death: taken of suicide watch just weeks after “attempting suicide”, cameras turned of, guards sleeping. All of this with the most high profile prisoner in the country. Just too many coincidences in my bookMaxwell’s dad was a Mossad/MI6 agent...
  10. A bit of a gruesome thing to do to rank pedophiles, but since you mentioned it, Jimmy Savile actually eclipse Epstein in my book (if that is possible). Both bastards died without their victims getting justice. Really hope the Feds turn up the heat on Prince Andrew. An angle that was not explored sufficiently in the Epstein documentary is the Mossad one. Personally I think he was murdered and to accomplish that would have required Intelligence level involvement. That part we will probably never know.
  11. Damn that is a cool hammer!
  12. 30 for 30 on Showmax. Brilliant! Great one on Greg leMond called Slaying the Badger.
  13. As daai fat plugs nie werk nie, laat my weet, ek het n ekstra 2.6 elimenator wat jy kan kry.
  14. Unfortunately yes, but all good rowers are. Price wise they are on par with the Concept 2.
  15. My water rower is testament to the fact that product placement on tv shows work (at least on me). Got mine after I saw Frank Underwood from House of Cards train on his. Never heard of them before that.
  16. Strange that no one seems to mention water rowers. I have an A1 and love it. Very natural resistance feel and does not sound like a plane taking off. In fact the sound is one of the best things about it. Also looks quite cool.
  17. Eddy Jones: “We’re now going to be kicking stones for 4 years. That’s a long time to be kicking stones....”
  18. Great interview. I liked the fact that they took the 3rd place play off seriously. Even after the loss last week Hansen refused to get sucked into the classic whine of playing a dead rubber. They are professionals and they owe it to the fans to take every game seriously and give their best. Many teams always complain that they should get rid of the 3rd place playoff. I disagree. Its an opportunity to leave the tournament on a high and make the fans proud. Hansen is a class act!
  19. W2W is not a baggies event. You are supposed to moose knuckle your way to the finish line in full lycra.
  20. I thought he did a good job. Something he does well in my opinion is knowing when to blow for a penalty and not let advantage run for ever. People often applaud a ref for playing advantage, but there should be a limit. When a team is chasing a game and a ref gives 4 minutes advantage before blowing the whistle and taking them back, those 4 minutes are not added back to the clock.
  21. I also don't mind the Haka. People buy tickets to the game to be entertained. It is part of the entertainment and barely last 2 minutes. I know my son of 10 for one always come running to watch the Haka.
  22. The funniest for me is that the outcome of all that was a penalty for the Springboks.
  23. Stumbled upon one of my favorite rugby clips again today. Being finals week I thought some of you might enjoy it as well Must be watched with sound!
  24. Absolutely loved Steve Hanson's answer to the question about the All Blacks not being "hungry enough". 'If you want to spend time outside I’ll give you a rugby education' 'Pretty average question I reckon"
