    Tour de Suisse

I see the start list (in the app) is still empty, I wonder which riders will be doing today's stage. Trying to decide how to watch it, app or SS1. Maybe SS1, to see if it is worth it for the rest of the stages.
  2. I'm running it on my tablet, that's the changelog in the Play Store. I'm honestly not sure if the Windows version shows something similar, or even if it updates automatically - I will have to play IT helpdesk for my dad later.
  3. I see there is an update available for Rouvy AR, that makes the 3D riders look a bit less terrible. What’s New- A new algorithm for Drag Coefficient calculation and frontal area estimation. - Improved and more realistic rider's model and behavior. - Improved physical model of rider's acceleration. - Added splits to altitude profile in watch mode. - Small UI improvements in watch mode. - Technogym trainer support. - Small bug fixes and performance optimization.

    Calling on you gamers

Rust sounds interesting... if I could play alone Same with ARK, etc. From the review: "Given the tone, it shouldn't be surprising that the community I found in Rust tended to be fairly juvenile and toxic." Nah, its ok. I've got maaaany other games I have not even started yet. Currently playing a DLC for Borderlands 2 that I had missed.
  5. Sorry Myles That is a heartbreaking way to lose her.
  6. Max grade 21%?! I've done the race a few times, including this short one, and that seems like the kind of thing one would remember... Edit: I'll probably still join on Monday morning, it can't be worse than the virtual Mur the other day
  7. I think it looks far more jagged than it really is, due to the profile being squished in a bit. For example, the seemingly monstrous climb just before 15km, looks like this when zoomed in: It rises just less than 30m in about 1.4km.
  8. Agreed! On that climb near the middle, I was thinking I started way too hard. The route is well edited though, no constant small elevation changes.
  9. I don't think Rouvy needs invites? You should be able to go to online races, find the race and join, even after the race has started. Will check, but that is how I have it
  10. This might be interesting to keep an eye on: https://blog.rouvy.com/en/163/TOP-TEAMS-SIGN-UP-FOR-THE-DIGITAL-SWISS-5
  11. Back in primary school we had a Border Collie, which with no training or farm life used to herd our chickens (kapokkies?). Then, when backed into a corner, the ones who jumped were picked off by our Irish Setter.
  12. Well... I never EVER want to do that again. Specifically that last km, everything before that was fun. Thanks SwissVan!
  13. Still waiting for mine to load from this morning's Zwift meetup. The same happened last time the undersea cables got damaged, so I'm guessing similar issue
  14. So sorry
  15. And officially postponed. Lazy weekend in the mountains it is then.
  16. We were forwarded a message, stating that "our events committee is busy monitoring the status and consulting with local authorities before making the decision whether to cancel or postpone this year's event." Probably won't happen. Fair enough
  17. I see Evobikes have the 26mm for even less currently. link: https://www.evobikes.co.za/tyres/road-tubeless-tyres/pirelli-cinturato-velo-tubeless-ready-folding-road-tyre.html
  18. Pirelli Cinturato tubeless tyres at a bit of a discount on Takealot: https://www.takealot.com/all?_sb=1&_r=1&_si=e6c0ca62d154392667ed5f9ecd12a21d&qsearch=cinturato
  19. Just received a "Rider's brief" mail for this event, bla bla "As a pre-entrant" bla... Yeah, good luck with that, I'm doing the Herald this weekend, definitely didn't enter the B&D...
  20. You could always create the route on Rouvy and save it? No video, of course. I've created a number of routes, including the full Stage 5 of the TOGH this year. Still have to actually ride the entire thing, but that's for next week, after I get back from the Herald.
  21. I reckon we all know and accept that there is some risk involved, of course. Things can and do go wrong, as with anything else in life. If I choose to sit up and avoid the mad dash for the grand prize of nothing, my priorities are just a bit different from those who do go for it. Should I not enter the race? Nah. I will avoid riders taking pointless risks though, hopefully limiting the risk to myself. My wife is no less proud of me for finishing 11th or 60th than if I got 1st in AL. As long as I finish safely.
  22. At last year's Herald, once we turned into the final few hundred meters to the finish and the I-can't-possibly-work-once-in-105km lot made their appearance and started jockeying for position, I decided to sit up and cruise to the line. Another guy got dropped at about the same time, and I told him I'm out, there's a crash coming. Sure enough, a few seconds later about 50m ahead of us, huge crash... None of the 10 riders in AL who finished ahead of me got a cent... why ride recklessly and put yourself and others in danger?!
  23. Lucky for me the race was not tonight, thanks Eksdom. I wonder how much power a smart trainer uses, if a UPS would be sufficient for say an hour's ride.
  24. I think about 40% carbs, and 15% or so is sugar. In terms of breakfast, depending on what is planned for the ride I might have just coffee before (basically anything under 2 hours) and have some Wheetbix and more coffee afterwards. For a race or longer ride, 2-3 Wheetbix and coffee before
  25. Registered, should be home in time
