  1. These bikes are too much for some trails in the Western Cape. Let's chat here.
  2. Ask the quary guys to dump a few buckets of boulders down the face of a steepish hill. Roll a few boulders about. Create a deathtrap trail with no soil to manecure. Getting exited writing this. I'm no avid technical rider but I love sh*#ting myself for a new trail. Except Ruperts folley for some weird reason. I actually shat myself there.
  3. Anyone know of someone harbouring a white elephant full sus mtb tandem (xl/s) in a garage somewhere?
  4. Good luck man. Some bleeding can be good for wound healing. As long as it doesn't form a clot in the space. Which it shouldn't at this stage. Holding thumbs.
  5. This guys is the ultimate troll.

    Helmets?

Kali protective brought out a new breathable full face. I really think breathable full face helmets make sense and is slowly creeping into the norm Most face plants happen when you don't expect it. (Not always after you scream STRAAAVVAAA, spray paint your teeth silver and WITNESS MEEEE.)
  7. 100% this. Medschool seems to be a new candle to the moths for cluster B personalities. Most Dr's are there for the real thing. To enjoy working for people that need help. Some just see it as some form of perverted hierarchical social ladder.
  8. Just contacted Worcester Hosp. Nope. No intern Dr D Lackay Basson. Most psychiatric patients (with grandiose delusions) typically identify with being either Dr's/lawyers/Dominees. Don't ask me why. It's just an observation.
  9. I'll see if he is in the Tygerberg/Stellenbosch Campus group. Doubt it. Antisocial/narcissistic personality disorders know no bounds. If he is. I have bad news. Scrapped from the roll for life if caught catching on criminalities like this. What a waste of 6+3y.
  10. Hi knowledgeables. What is the import tax/duties on a bicycle frame?
  11. Look for a rockshox Yari. All you want.
  12. Honestly the weight of the bike is a non factor. The geometry/contact points/tyres/wheels/suspension/brakes far outweighs (pun intended) the weight of the bike. Obviously within reason. Pedalling a 20kg ebike with the motor off is a good example. I for one enjoy my bike being on the porky side. If any one of us has to lose weight, it's me! Also. The feeling of dampened chatter due to the significant unsprung weight makes the suspension do amazing things. Like butter. Obviously as a Clydesdale a 17kg enduro rig feels like nothing to me. But if you're a 55kg lady with limited watts, dropping the weight significantly may play quite the role. When my wife is done incubating our second boy I'm going to start building up a bike for her RIDICULOUSLY light. Just to see if it makes a difference to her.
  13. Buy the dartmoor thunder rims on TrailTech. I'm liking everything about them so far.
  14. Just bought a buddies ribbon. Waiting for the right spring. First impressions are that of amazing small bump sensitivity. Officially excited for 2020.
  15. I would only try those green vittoria tyre inserts. Not only do they protect the rim/tyre but can get you home as a run flat option. Had foamo which worked fine. Trying heavier casings for now. If I hulksmash a rim too soon to my liking I'll go back to inserts.
  16. To summarise all above. Ditch press fit. Go threaded.
  17. Was on "sale" but the single rear hub still put me back 250usd... So 4.5k. I got over the price after the first ride. The silence is something to experience.
  18. K. Right. I bought the onyx rear hub after perving over it for the last 3years. Imported via fanatikbike. For those that don't know yet. Onyx (racing products) hub is a sprag clutch hub. Near instant (imperceptibly quick) engagement. Lowest of low resistance and most importantly for me... Dead ass quiet. First proper ride this am laced on some dartmoor thunder rims with my usual Goodyear tyres. Bike essentially transformed. The engagement also doesn't feel metal on metal as with a pawl/star ratchet hub. It's softer than a clunk but in a good way. The most mind blowing for me was riding some lekker rocky sections on conties this am and hearing nothing but tyre/soil/suspension work. This is a part that I don't see myself moving on from soon. Spoilt rotten by myself.
  19. Miserable vetties stuck in their suvs in traffic don't take kindly to you zipping past on the left. Expect some bitter fool to pull into the yellow when they see you approaching from behind. Also expect them to be too pathetic to turn their heads to you when you ask them to roll down their windows. Almost as if they are petrified this real person they just tried to off may moer them with a bikepomp.
  20. Fortuners don't have functioning lefthandview mirrors.
  21. I cary a karambit with me everywhere I go. Pocket clip with Emerson wave hook. Useful for opening boxes and sachets of milk. Doesn't bother me. Fun to play with if I'm bored. Very difficult to disarm due to the retainer ring for your index finger. Not something that I look forward to using in a confrontation but you do what you do to survive.
  22. Getting a drop of oil/grease on a surface that absolutely does not want oil/grease on it.
  23. I vote mercer steel dual sus mtb tandem.
