  1. noted on the snekkie-snek-snek
  2. I was thinking of this... I realise a long thin loop might not be possible, just and out and back.
  3. As it says above? Can I stay at Beaverlac and ride to Citrusdal? Strava routing indicates it's possible, but I've been thwarted before. I thought I'd check before coming unstuck
  4. I tried a 2:1 ratio of maltodextrin and caramel sugar and salt. it worked surprisingly well. and cheap as chips. i lobbed in some MCT powder and it turned out pretty palatable.
  5. Local is lekker. very lekker in this case....
  6. I fully agree with you that something must be done. But escalating things might not be the best option. It may end up with a cycling vigilante being on the wrong side of the law. It's a crummy predicament, as the law seems to be doing nothing.
  7. ^^^This...
  8. and on a Monday nogal... eish.... will this survive till Friday? While some of these shots do not flatter the cycling community at all, there are none of the inconsiderate drivers close-passing cyclists for no reason, other than they weren't paying attention or are hell-bent on proving a point to 'damn cyclists who deserve what they get'. I was on the R27 (no shoulder) yesterday near Elands and kept to the left of the roadway (as the Traffic act stipulates) and signaled to cars approaching from the rear (thanks Varia) that I'm human and need a bit of space, yet even on that empty road, with no other cars about, I still got hooted at and close-passed. Sadly, those two times (2x too many, IMO) out of the dozens of considerate and patient drivers are the ones that will stick in my mind about yesterday's ride home. And it's the same with cyclists... a driver sees a group behaving abysmally, and vents frustratedly at every other cyclist they see after that... Hey ho... be safe out there kids... there are humans out and about
  9. well, based on MVDP's dominance, it'll be on display for some time for your viewing pleasure.
  10. If you pop in on Monday, they should have a nice white Inflite with World Champ colours on display.... nice pics BTW
  11. Firstly, I'm glad it's not worse - in hindsight, these things always could be. I think I speak for everyone here - take your doc's advice seriously and follow the rehab. But also don't be shy about getting a second opinion. If you have to take time off the bike to recover 100%, do so. You can always ride when you're at that stage, but risking a setback isn't worth it in the long run. Speedy healing and take time to make the big decisions on bikes etc. A carefully thought-out plan is better than a chaotic one. And lastly, I hope this can be a stage of growth for you. That way, it wouldn't have been pointless.
  12. That's amazing! Well done and thanks for sharing. Two observations - that seatpost will not be budging for a some time with 3 bolts... And how is that toe overlap?
  13. ah, you only need to wash it out when you are able to find your helmet in the dark by smell alone!
  14. I ride with a bandanna over my head. It does 2 things - no insects get caught up in my helmet and it protects my scalp from sunburn. getting stung on the skull ain't much fun at the best of times and less so when bombing downhill and sunburn for the follically-challenged is a nightmare and makes the good times bad
  15. Please share the add on you used? I'm still grappling with getting this off the ground
  16. Answering 'Droo at Stoke' to the question 'I need my fork/shock serviced, where do I take it' is as default as answering 'fine thanks' when people ask how you're doing. That this is true is down to the honesty and integrity of Droo and all at Stoke and the immense amount of hard work they have put in over the years and continue to put in day after day, just like it's their first day. #lookingforwardtothatbeer
  17. I've shopped @Evo many times, both online and in store. If you know your prices, they generally will suit your pocket, and often they have stock of something that other stores do not, so pricing is moot. I've never had an issue, and they will remain the first place I check when I need something.
  18. Need to sort out this streaming thing ASAP
  19. If you have the option to get your bike on a smart trainer in ERG mode and can check the power output at various levels from the 2 units it'll tell you the answer. But, if it seems odd, it's best to get it checked out, even if for your own peace of mind. Please let us know what you find and if there's a resolution
  20. added to that, everyone is different and each person has to figure it out for themselves. Ultimately, it's a worthwhile endeavour. Any specific advice here will be anecdotal. And seeing as it's end Jan now, so, best start figuring out the nutrition.... for Epic 2025
  21. their blurb states '90min of vigorous activity' recorded on a device. Or some races as you say...
  22. The endurance option will give you 600pts for 180min @>60% HR. there is a scale, but that's the max you can get. look it up. I found it worthwhile to join.
  23. Cycle, yes. Drive, no. It's a rail service road, so Transnet and only people who live along there are permitted. Not that a sign stating that is very effective. As it's a rail service road, the grades are non-existent, but the surface varies from pristine to shocking
