  1. JB is a much respected Hubber and he also has a business to run. But before OP gets a round of Hub bashing 'n bruising, there are three sides to the story.
  2. Report it to the municipality - they have a hotline and also your local councillor. If there is one thing I've learnt with the DA is that if you complain to the right person, they do something. Also give them reference to this thread,
  3. According to sportstrack you just upload the .gpx file generated by the device.
  4. +1 for Extreme Lights and Hannes Will buy again and recommend to all who are looking for lights.
  5. Sorry about your loss OP - what I've started to do is virtual credit cards like VCPay. Its an application on your phone that generates a unique credit card number with a limit for each transaction. You can only spend what is in your wallet (positive cash balance). I'm using to get me out of debt as I no longer use my real plastic but it gives me massive peace of mind when buying online.
  6. @akneethling +1 for the advice. Just orderd mine and this thread is going to come in handy.
  7. This deal http://www.buycycle.co.za/specials/bryton-and-adidas-special.html for R2500 - good deal if you need shades but I already happy with mine (and also need prescription inserts)
  8. Awesome guys - just saw it on Groupon by chance and this thread sold me. Putting in my order now. At least I work next door to Groupon if I have any problems with them EDIT: I was actually looking at the 20 on CWC but it is unit only for R1200, this is a killer deal. Perhaps I can sell my HRM & Computer to regain some of the costs
  9. I'm out of this one tonight and bummed out. My health is still in recovery mode and the weather in the CBD is awful today.
  10. Sweet mother of Marcello!!! She is hot
  11. Bummer, cold and wet. I might have to give it a skip if the weather does not clear up. Else anybody up to a Helderberg Bluemoonmass ?
  12. Cannot wait for this one. Hopefully my chest will have cleared up by then (been very ill the last 3 weeks).
  13. Well my municipality fixes potholes by dumping a shovel of tar on the road and then pounding it with the shovel - might not be 100% according to the gosepel of road engineering but it not only gets the job done but gives the guys time to get all the potholes done. Well done OP. I also remember when I was living in Brits 10+yrs back how one farmer publically admitted to fixing a pothole with cemement on the Tambazimbi road - he threatened to bill the Department of Road Works for his labour.
  14. I was very impressed by their customer service and its much needed in Somerset West. I've yet to buy from them but they are my first choice for a local LBS.
  15. But are you prepared to pay for their time and effort? Keep in mind that many businesses also discount their labour when buying the retail item from them. What you could do is just install the item yourself and then book your bike in a for a service to get the LBS to fit it properly for you.
  16. Its not like the route requires me to gear up with abseiling equipment
  17. I'm so in on the next one, only heard about it a last week. Can anybody tell me if its safe to do it with a little 2yr old Hubber on a child seat? My little one loves her time on my bike and it would love to do a ride with her
  18. Yeah, the guy is too clean to be a mountain goat, has to be an undercover roadie !!!!
  19. My son is getting real good at Legos and even though he is 5, he is coming up with the most amazing things. For me, I'm starting to see the real value in Legos for childhood development. Remember, they are never too young to start and your never too old to keep on playing.
  20. LOL I've seen many South African versions of this in my youth including the car battery on the carrier
  21. Never a nice thing to hear. Its not about the money, its about the invasion of privacy. Once got broken into 7 times in one year and even when they took random junk that was destined to be tossed out, it still was not nice.
  22. I'm in the Cape so no comment on how technical your rides are but trust me, if your considering a 20km then save your cash and ride to your corner cafe and back. Do the 40km and don't stress. My first race was 42km (Die Burger MTB challenge) and I never looked back even if I did finish dead last
  23. I also doubt the bike is worth more than R5K with those components - check the pedals
