  1. I bought this Campag spanner with my first set of Campag Cranks from Deale & Heuth 44 main street Jhb. Was less than R 3.00 Try Them !
  2. Set the strobe to flash at 8 Hertz, that way it can be used as a defensive weapon. 8 Hertz is a brain wave frequency, and can bright lights at that frequency can induce disorientation and even an epileptic fit in susceptible people.
  3. Saw that Spinny. The chop did not hafta know about the podium finishes.

  5. Spinny finished in (a fair for him - he has done better) 5 hours 4 min
  6. There have been times that I have flown down that road with the wind behind. But no matter what the wind, that climb drag out of the Saltpans kills the legs.
  7. This is about the first time there has been a head wind on Stage 2. Have a look at the maps of the route put out by the club, they show that the wind is supposed to give a big push on stage 2. We often have an easterly wind in the morning and a westerly wind after lunch , giving a push both ways. It had to happen sometime .. . .
  8. Kremetart should be up on Champion chip results page shortly. Colin H has a way to travel though first. http://za.onreg.com/results/
  9. I've had 38 parcels from them , all either Parcel Force or Royal Mail. Delivery for all has been about 10 days, except for one over Christmas and New year which took another 10 days. No miss in 38 parcels. 38 Hits, all intact, customs correct. It seems a good enough record. Why pay more for DHL if 10 days delivery is not a sweat ?
  10. Ok, who remembers the old track at Grand central ? I was 12 years old when I rode by bicycle from Modderfontein to Grand Central along the dirt roads though Limbro Park to watch John Love in his D Type Jaguar win there. (19th March 1960 - Google is majic for memories)
  11. Late '60's early '70's
  12. No, They are OK, they are not pink and fluffy
  13. This is the Presidential Palace in Suriname. It has a 600mm high stone wall in front to protect it from a busy public road - nothing else. Why are our leaders afraid of those who elect them?
  14. I had a A/C Joint seperation 2 years ago. The Surgeon said go look on the internet, you will find 44 ways to fix it. If any worked there would only be 2 or three.
  15. Heck guys you need to Fly luxury class now and then for perspective, Sky van. Plenty room for bikes. This was the view forwards and backwards from my seat this week. My return flight was cancelled yesterday as the operator did not get his fuel delivery. If the weather holds I may get out tomorrow.
  16. With FNB you go to the FNB website and confirm the payment online using the reference number on the proof of payment. Surely its the same with Nedbank?
  17. Suit Yourself too!
  18. If you selected delivery by royal mail or parcelforce you collect from the P.O. The PO should send you a slip telling you that its there and how much to pay, but don't bank on it. If its coming Parcel force follow the tracking into SA the phone international mail for the local Tracking number.
  19. A demonstration on the importance of opening the top valve to air when you attempt to suck the fuel out of a tank. Air pressure from outside an empty vessel is powerful.
  20. I use this air horn. (From CRC) It is most effective for clearing the path. 115decibels of fun!

  22. Twangiza DRC. I rode in the dark though, on the bike at 4:37am this morning.
  23. Mostly, but being 60+ does lessen the numbers of opposition a bit.
  24. I did 3 races in the last month, and I got my entry fee back in prize money each time. So the answer is simple, get fit enough win your catergory and earn your fee entry back.
