  1. A silver at Comrades is as good as it gets for a working amateur. It really indicates total dedication, congrats sir. I trust your family are very proud as well.
  2. So, the dust has settled mostly on another Comrades Ultra. I hate to be the one to bring it up, but is Gerda really clean? Her total domination makes me doubt it. Second, third and fourth placed ladies looked like they've been through a war, whereas she looked somewhat more fresh. Can we judge any superb athletic performance now without a hint of cynicism (spelling)? Perhaps my fear will never be justified and she has performed 100% under her own natural steam.
  3. I've never even heard of SRAM SX.
  4. I've had 2 TR bikes - 1 was my very first bike, a HT (stolen). I cannot recall the model name. Then my second was their first series of gravel bikes. I loved that bike so much, and it too was stolen. So, if my experience is anything to go by, you're looking at a 100% stolen rate 🤣
  5. LOL, "medicine".
  6. So is Remco really ready for the tour? This race makes me doubt.
  7. I think if you sell COUNTERFEIT goods (ie. goods claiming to be a certain brand), you should be banned. I think copyright law must be so sticky.
  8. I suppose fake, other than the blatantly obvious, will probably boil down to quality. A chain, I can imagine, would probably be down to tolerances, maybe anti-corrosion properties.
  9. I was about to ask whether they sprung a R7K bill on you out of the blue, I'm very happy they didn't.
  10. Take into account he's talking about 10-speed components.
  11. According to Meta AI on WhatsApp ( I used a motor vehicle for this exmaple) - Servicing and maintaining a motor vehicle are related but distinct concepts: Servicing: - Refers to routine checks and replacements of wear-and-tear parts, such as oil, filters, and spark plugs. - Typically done at regular intervals (e.g., every 5,000-10,000 miles) to keep the vehicle running smoothly and prevent breakdowns. - Focuses on replacing consumable parts and fluids to maintain the vehicle's performance and efficiency. - Examples: oil changes, tire rotations, brake pad replacements. Maintaining: - Encompasses a broader range of activities aimed at prolonging the vehicle's lifespan and overall health. - Includes repairs, overhauls, and upgrades to address worn or damaged components, as well as preventative measures to prevent future issues. - May involve more extensive work, such as replacing major components (e.g., engines, transmissions), repairing electrical systems, or performing bodywork. - Examples: timing belt replacements, engine overhauls, rust repair. In summary: - Servicing is about routine upkeep and replacements to maintain performance and prevent breakdowns. - Maintaining is about addressing existing issues, preventing future problems, and extending the vehicle's lifespan through repairs, overhauls, and upgrades.
  12. It seems athletes are just willing to take this risk. Or, like in some instances, they get forced to do it by senior people they trust. But like I heard on a podcast, why is it only the athlete that gets slammed? Why don't the administrators/coaches behind the scenes also get a lashing? Salazar is an example of a coach that got nailed, but in general?
  13. Age groupers shouldn't get prize money, especially if you're employed in a high position at a well-known bank. But I get your point.
  14. Who do you suspect is on something unsavioury?
  15. https://nation.africa/kenya/sports/athletics/rhonex-kipruto-handed-six-years-ban-stripped-medal-world-record-4647930 There's no doubt Kenya is vrot with doping.
  16. Good morning, Hubbers. I just came across this service. Is anyone using it? Is it worth the bother? www.cycletrace.co.za
  17. I enjoyed this highlights package. Yeah, they copied the Drive to Survive format a bit, but you can see the impact of Top Gear in almost every car reviewer YouTuber all these years later...
  18. I read that, cruiser bikes. I think I saw a picture that the one guy put a power meter on the rubbish crank? This, too, is my goal one day. Go to *insert major general goods retailer* to buy a bike, ride some race with it, and see if I can turn it for a profit on the other side.
  19. The thick plottens...
  20. Probably because he knew he was busted fair and square.
  21. I spotted this yesterday as well. His own website says Level 3 coach, but his Strava profile states Level 4. I'm pretty sure this can quickly be verified by doing a search on a UCI database.
  22. I think TrainingPeaks has a TSS equivalent based on HR, I know Golden Cheetah does.
