  1. Me I love station wagons. It's a real pity they aren't around so much anymore (in SA). The Europeans smaak their station wagons.
  2. I did find this document. Apparently gravel is classified as XCG. Cup events for 2024 TBA. 2024 Gauteng Cycling Colours Selection Criteria.pdf
  3. Well, gravel does have a nationals at least... A friend's BIL was awarded WP colours for gravel, but there seems to be nothing like that up in GP.
  4. Yes, it sounds correct. Your PM is fine. Smoothing the recording is better. If it read zero or very high, then I'd be worried. Don't fret too much. Focus on learning about your body, how the effort feels. If you go analyse your data afterwards, you get to know what Z2, 3, 4, 7 "feels" like aka RPE. I love the numbers, but lately I haven't really cared. The power number is a consequence of your effort. IMHO, if you want to train to power, doing it outside will just wreck your brain. The smart trainer, even though lots of people dislike it, has been proven over and over to be a better use of your time.
  5. 12 year ban for the Saffa? Dude, you won't be able to take part in a parkrun with a rap sheet like that. How badly did he f-up?
  6. Seems I've double posted, I didn't realise the article mentioned a cyclist until now.
  7. Elton Jantjies NOT the only SA sportsperson banned: FULL LIST (msn.com) Cyclist on that list I've never heard of.
  8. The wife (therefore me too) Bump on Showmax. The show is a bit too woke for my liking, and it quite literally my one of my worst nightmares (teenage pregnancy).
  9. I simply cannot understand the demand of bicycles (read theft). These are very simple machines that are inherently cheap.
  10. I can't see why not. I think people must be cognizant of the fact that it will reduce some of the buzz, not all of it.
  11. I don't hate him. I don't hate he who shall not be named either. These 2 guys, amongst a sea of others over the generations, have ignited people's interest in riding and watching bike racing on TV. They really are larger than the sport.
  12. We all believe this will be a very interesting, mutually benefitial time for the two riders. I wonder who will learn more from who? PS certainly has his share of stories. And has 4 times the rainbow stripes that Mr Beers does (I know 4 times 0 is still zero).
  13. Has anyone seen what Tiger Woods looks like these days? Isn't golf officially an Olympic sport? If USADA haven't been knocking yet, it blows my mind as to why not. Dude is a UNIT.
  14. He never hid this fact. He seemed to give less f**ks as the years went on. His "why so serious" tattoo is testement to that.
  15. This thread sped up to Friday material real quick. People getting butt hurt real quick.
  16. You should remember your Bar-One for your 27 hour day.
  17. I know a guy. DM your question to me and we'll go from there.
  18. Does anyone recognise the other riders and/or the trail?
  19. As another club member put it - 4🫅 lekker ride. First 100k since 947RJ.
