Cruzer This is a good idea, but we need to find an alternative route as this route is way to busy lately. But it will definately be an improvement on safety.

Maybe this can be prevented in the new series by issuing each rider that enter the super series a card like the licence card to say he is part of the series. He will then need to present that at number collection and when required.

Maybe this should be discussed with traffic departments in the different areas. There might be a possibility of a patrol car following riding groups. (Wishfull thinking I know, but might be worth a try.)

Birdie If he has a riding licence he probably was starting with the Elites($ -number). Then he will not be allowed to hook into the following bunches as everyone stated. Unfortunately that is it if you get dropped you have a long and lonely ride to the finish. With a sub 3 he don't need to feel bad. Some hard training and working hard in the bunches is probably his future. Also if he is 18 he is still junior this year and unfortunately for him the Juniors and elites started together in this race, which does not happen normally.

I had a look at the winningtime results and this story seems not to be true. The A-bunch time was 2:44 and he said he was dropped from there. The B-bunch time was 3:04 and C-bunch 2:59. So if he were caught by any of the B or C bunches there was no chance that he could do a sub 3 race. Or are my calculations wrong here?IanC2008-05-05 03:21:03

Maybe think about a year planner. Then sell each day block to a hubber for his/her foto. Maybe each one will buy the block of his birthday. And then as it is a cycling calender print the the races in already. or at least all the most popular races as voted for by the hubbers. make it the hubbers race calender, races where you most likely will find Hubbers.

Cherry I agree She know what happened, She have to live with it. But judging on one foto without any one seeing it, and no input from the 4 persons in that foto no one can say that there was any cheating involved.

Maybe I'm stupid but that foto does not proof she has been pushed or pulled. Firstly the guys hand are very high up on her shoulder, if he was pulling hard his hand would have slipped off. Secondly he is to far away from her to be really of any assistance. Wasn't this a act of encouragement rather than assistance. Grey owl. Some advice. If it was in the afternoon it is probably youngsters still in school going for there afternoon training session. If so they probaly use the same route every day. Go wait more or less the same time on that route and take a camera. You will probably recognize them, take a foto and send it to Ali or Andrew. These youngsters will then know that you onto them anyway.

Maybe someone must try and convince the government to build a cycling only route between Pta and Jhb. And maybe from the east to Sandton. Will see how many people start riding then.

Shaunh I see all the posters are going to bike shops where only cyclists visit. Maybe you should look at getting this up at petrol stations close to the training routes. It might help making motorists aware as well. And maybe get donations there too.

Skye Maybe contact Cyclesure and give them the frame number. Hopefully it is insured with them and they have the owners contact details. A while ago there was talk about setting up a web site where one can register your bike by serial number. What happened about that. You can then also use it to check if you want to buy a second hand bike to see who the owner is.
