  1. Fuel economy, emissions, inherent design flaws. Mazda has something new and interesting in the pipeline though, namely SkyActive X; https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/its-amazing-that-mazdas-skyactiv-x-engine-tech-works-so-well/
  2. Uhm ja, no. It's a career choice. Same same a teacher can't expect the same income as an actuary.
  3. Did you read it in context? No.
  4. I think you're putting it out of reach for yourself. One should be able to get to that fitness level within 3 months.
  5. Did his crank come loose?
  6. For that purpose, yeah it’s a perfectly fine bicycle. But my post and the post I quoted refer to upgrading the bike’s parts.
  7. Edit: Double post.
  8. Not worth it tbh. Straight steerer head tube, 9mm qr dropouts will all just add to your woes. Plus the frame is from 2015/16? Meaning geometry is outdated and you’ll just be throwing good money after bad. Just look for a 2nd hand bike in that price range and sell it at minimal loss again when you want to upgrade.
  9. How do you find working with wenge? Splinter much?
  10. Yeah. Better stick with kitsch palm trees and pretend we’re on a ****** tropical island.
  11. old, but gold;
  12. Predator's new ride? Or John Cena's?
  13. Finished up these tonight. New night stands.
  14. Don't worry the history books will only tell one story. No one mentioned unfair red cards against Bismarck or unlucky ref call for when referring to our win-loss records against the ABs.
  15. That dual position Pike works nicely. Definitely something I'd consider on a bike like the new Stumpy ST, to have a nippy playful bike on mellower trails, or raise the travel when you're going to hit some steeper gradients. It's like a reverse mullet. Business at the back, party at the front. I think it's also got to do with having fresher legs, and a more responsive bike when you have a lot of pedal sections, and having a burly front end to take care of most of the impact.
  16. Is your LBS a small, cluttered type shop? If that's the case, then it could answer your question. If you care about your brand, you also care how the product is presented to potential buyers, and a nice showroom will elevate your brand.
  17. Goes to show that one could perhaps sell more of a given product at a lower margin. The demand is there, someone just have to take the plunge on higher volumes/lower margins over higher margins/lower volumes.
  18. ...and so the panic and anxiety started.
  19. https://www.woodoc.com/en/products/woodoc-25-water-borne-floor-sealer Use this on some random projects - mostly related to workshop duties and not furniture. Finish is rather nice, little "yellowing/staining effect", and dries quickly.
  20. Let's take Jonkers for example. Only dbl Black/Plumber really, and only sections of that. So of the total trail network there it's a minor percentage. Canaries, Firehut and Bennets are all rideable (meaning you'll still have plenty fun) even on a xc bikes. Just my opinion, but if you're going to spend 3 hours riding all the trails there and only 2-3 mins are spent on "gnarly" sections - is it really worth it? To come back to the Ransom - like a said, if the suspension is all its cracked up to be then maybe, possibly for n=1, definitely for n+1
  21. Calm yer mammaries man. It all about personal preferences and I'm not prescribing to anyone. And while these bikes are cool and we all would like to think we need all the travel available, I'm pretty sure mid travel bikes will actually do just fine. I'm riding an Enduro 29er, which is a very capable bike in many respects, but it really just comes into its own on trails the like of Jonkers and Steilte.
  22. If the suspension is really as effective as they make it out to be, then perhaps. But unfortunately there is little available trails locally that really warrants 170mm of travel.
  23. As a n+1 bike (where n>5) it’d be great. I’d look at the Ibis Ripmo first in the long travel 29er category, although the Ransom has a lot of appeal for due to it’s low weight.
  24. Nice. Did you use a potato for that photo?
