  1. The thing about SS that still irks me the most is that they're showing WWE fake-ass-redneck-smooth-brained-wrestling. They might as well add the Kardashians to the line-up.
  2. Yip, and the amount of travel a frame can accommodate. Short seat tubes ftw. And any bike with a kink in the seat tube or a rocker link pivot in the way that limits the insertion depth has also become a deal breaker for me. My next bike must at least be able to fit a 160-170 mm dropper for my short legs.
  3. My first couple of rides with a dropper was such a weird feeling experience. At first I would only drop the seat ~5cm. And then ~10 rides later, all the sudden, it just stopped feeling weird. Now, it just feels uncomfortable and unrideable to have saddle in the way, as I've learned to actually move around on the bike, leaning in corners etc. Riding flat pedals with the seat up is also looking for ***, as one can't bend your legs enough to absorb the big impacts. I leave it for pros like Nino to do that.
  4. Well yes, if we're going to be pedantic about the literal sense of the word. You also don't have to get up in the cold and go to work tomorrow morning, but who's going to pay your bills. It's just a bit different when your income depends on generating views/clicks/likes etc.
  5. 100% I'm not into these extreme edits. The athletes continuously have to out do their previous acts or the peers, all this to create social media content for likes/follows etc. Viewers/fans get desensitized eventually, also demanding more, and if it's not gnarlier than the previous video, they lose interest. Yet, the same people can't even bunny hop a side walk. It reminds me of when Tony Hawk PS game came out, and these nobodies would expect you to also do a double backflip out of a crooked nose grind landing with a double kick flip.
  6. I've no idea what you're on about, but that profile pic,
  7. Ahh, makes sense. The under belly looks like that of a humpback, but the flippers seemed too small.
  8. Gnarly AF. The stuff s-works dreams are made of.
  9. Obviously when you're looking at GWM or whatever chinese vehicle, you're not looking for reliability, decent resale value and the tried n tested.
  10. Man, that's so awesome. Didn't even know one can do this. What whale is that, a humpback?
  11. Eeuw gross, looks like a dog shitting on your lawn.
  12. Don't forget, that short wheelbase drives like ****. If you like living on the edge at 60km/h go for it. The only thing going for a wrangler is its looks.
  13. Must be the same type of people that tells you their Land rover has also been trouble free with only 8798 km on the odo. Any car is reliable when it's still under the manufacturers warranty. The 2nd hand price is indicative of how reliable a car is.
  14. yeah nah, you can probably get a set of 240s with the ratchet exp from overseas for the same or less than 350s locally (minus that upgrade).
  15. Probably Hope, if colour matching is your thing. 350 if you're counting grams. Both are noisy.
  16. Everyone wants to be a spoon there, even if it mean being the little one getting carted around on a bike.
  17. Disagree. Even a hardtail is overkill for the 99% of riding, when all they do is ride up to the trailhead and take pictures at the top of the black route's board, then head down the same fire road again. It's just like our 4x4s in SA, most people actually just need a station wagon.
  18. That's statement's a bit rich coming from people that mounted the brake caliper on the seat stay on what 's essentially a single pivot. I would not pay any attention to anyone's absolutes, one day we're told single pivots are unrideable, it's DW/VPP/4bar or gtfo, the next everyone is back on the single pivot bangwagon.
  19. Maybe in Gauteng one bottle is enough for a 30-40 km ride, which is like 300 m climbing over 1h30min. Most people are in agreement that backpacks sucks.
  20. Best would be to go to an autobody shops and speak to them. I don't think it's the soft binding you have to worry about, it's more to do with the acid itself in the etch primer that can mess with the other layers/filler. Etch primers do well on bare metal, and adheres well. Epoxy primers do seal better and offer better protection. You'd have to get the spec sheets and advice from the supplier to know for sure about compatibility etc.
  21. I'm not an expert at all, but I'd probably have gone for the etch primer first too. Depending on how much filling/sealing the job require would determine what primer you go for next. Epoxy primer is probably not necessary for a frame. As for spraying itself, a conventional/basic gun with 2k will probably not get you the best results. Spraying 2k isn't for amateurs, which I assume you are. A touch up gun will yield better result with a small piece like a frame. Lay down your primers until you have a perfect finish. Sand between coats if you have to. Then do your base colours, but be prepared for orange peel with 2k. Not sure how you'll be able to flat sand between different colours/layers, if you do end up with it. You can get 2k in cans as well, made up in any colour/finish, that might be easier, and the less expensive route, as you'll need to account for 2k hardener and thinners, and cleaning your gun. For a small job like a frame, 2k will be quite expensive, especially with multiple colours. Think Paint Chemistry in CT can help you with 2k cans.
  22. We're in the free market. Price it at what you think is fair. If it sells, and there was still money on the table, make peace with it. If it's too high, it won't sell. No need for price fixing.
  23. Depends how much those things cost. A T-track, a block of wood with a bolt and star knob will do just as well.
  24. Not if he's a vegan and with that spelling.
