  1. Think the widths are spot on. They will probably release the beefier/cheaper S1 version again of the Arch and Flow, that'll make the Arch more "enduro" friendly for those who want to run a narrower rim.
  2. Bra, with that sad post you're no better than anyone here with your little snide remarks.
  3. I'm not a fan of kiaat, but that piece will give even a very nice piece of walnut a run for its money. Well done!
  4. You can buy threaded pipes in standard lengths (think ~600 & 900 mm) from Agrimark. For longer length clamps, the price is unbeatable. Those similar priced cheap sash clamps are just cheap and nasty, and the price for the decent ones are just "unproportionally" high as if the bulk of the cost lies in the rails/bar itself.
  5. Although the Drillpro stuff looks very decent, I just can't deal with the shipping unknowns from Banggood. I also really dislike supporting the Chinese, especially when it comes to cheap knock-offs.
  6. Yeah, I'm in no hurry to add a snorkel to a gti....yet.
  7. The new Banshee Trance ain't bad either;
  8. Yeah, pretty standard, especially compared to previous models. The design though is unnecessarily complicated. I can only imagine that cavity adds a few 100 g to the frame (same as the Spez swat box adds around 200-300 g iirc), and there really is no real benefit. BUT, manufacturers have to find something to set their bikes/design apart from the rest of the looks-like-session crowd.
  9. Should be quite a bit cheaper via Amazon. No point going through T4W that also just imports it on order. The 6" one is also much cheaper via RS Components, and the shorter rule is more user friendly for wood working imo.
  10. The only c'dales I've ever wanted was those from the 90s. If I'm going to have a bike with a X2 Ka$hima, I want that thing to be visible. Yes, I'm a gearslut.
  11. This is how it starts...
  12. Don't get FOMO, all those people on YT and instagram are sponsored by them. Kinda just annoys me lately, as it's all just product placements/adverts.
  13. You know that every manufacturer spins that exact same story, 30% stiffer here, 20% more flex there. Don't get hung up on the marketing jargon.
  14. Dunno, just looking at that frame, I looks heavier, but that is not Nino's excuse. It's an unnecessarily complicated design with the only positive of the design being able to mount a 2nd water bottle inside the main triangle. Hiding the shock is just for cosmetics, unless shocks started failing overnight all of the sudden due to exposure. I can also just imagine that that cavity will just collect fine dust over time, then how do you just quickly wipe down your shock after a ride. All of that at the expense of a long seat tube with probably minimal insertion depth for a long dropper post. Probably not such a big deal for the dirt roadies, but definitely a deal-breaker for the trail version. The Epic and other lookalikes is where my money would go if I were in the market.
  15. Stopped watching 5s after the intro ended.
  16. Damn, I always thought I was a drol for hating on mx guys.
  17. And still Sagan would smoke him, who in turn he wouldn’t be able to keep up with Froome up a mountain pass. Just like climbing ability, physics is obviously not everyone’s strong suit.
  18. There's also the reality of when losing weight, you're losing more muscle mass in the process. Something commonly referred to as skinnyfat. This happens a lot, especially with women that go on crazy diets and only hit the treadmill in the gym. They drop kilos of mass, but look flat and deflated. Skinny face, arms, flat chest, but the fat ass still lingers. It's one of the reasons one needs to incorporate weight training, it keeps the muscles pumped and burns the fat in between the skin/muscles.
  19. Same, 702 when I'm in Joburg, Cape Talk when at home and mostly just the afternoon drive/Money show. It also prevents me from being exposed to the s**t music played on air when I'm not using Spotify.
  20. Those are some of the grippiest tyres you can get. The problem lies with either incorrect pressure, or the obvious; cornering technique.
  21. This^^^, I'm 173cm and 10 kg less, ~12% bodyfat. I can tell you, I fly up the mountain when I drop to under 68 kgs, regardless of the bike, be it a 160mm enduro with minions or epic with gatorskins. The difference in performance is not only the result of weight, but the accompanying training. If you care for that, then it's time to start with more structured training.
  22. No, never. Can't stress this enough. Do so at your own peril, but know that the outcome is always going to be the same; if your tools aren't damaged or lost, they'll just keep on borrowing it until it's broken or lost. Worst case, they can't even afford/aren't willing to repair or replace damaged/lost tools, then what happens? There should be a tool hire place like Coastal or Talisman they can use. How do you in any case start a project without the necessary equipment? My uncle borrowed my dad's circular saw to rip some beams. Burnt out the motor coz he's an idiot. He actually offered to pay for the replacement, but when he learned how much a new Makita costs, he just said, wow that's crazy expensive. Never saw a cent contributed, but still had the audacity to ask to borrow his saw again later.
  23. I thought it was bad when they started posting about the **** on twitter, then they dug for new lows by writing lazy relationship/family articles about stories/posts they find on Reddit. WTAF. The cycling news is also cringeworthy of note. It's all just low quality info for the masses.
  24. Why? Personally I don't care much for it...but anti-lympic?
