  1. Lately yes. Trying to drop a few
  2. Kenda nevegal for R250. They were about R600 local last year and I ordered from crc for about R300 after tax
  3. My intension is not to offend anyone, but I think this need to be said once in a while. We hear a lot about all the successfull weightloss stories and that's supper awesome. It takes hard work and determination. But I'd like to congratulate the guys who stayed healthy throughout and after varsity/school and for being consistent in keeping healthy and fit all this time.
  4. If people use it, then we can reduce the unneccasary posts like this one. I would just click on like your post.
  5. Notthing sexier than a ht with a racing setup
  6. Wheels I've put on hold. To get wheels that's really lighter, will cost too much. I could maybe have a look at some bearing upgrades when the time comes. Have kcnc headset spacers. I'd rather get something that makes functional sense and not only for looks. I don't have bolt on discs, so I'm pretty limited in rotor choice. Not sure on my pads. Normal xt/slr pad I got from crc. Will have a look at braided hoses and see if they make sense. I really like the ESI grips, especially because they're easy to cut, which makes sense with the gripshifts. I've got black ones, so don't really clean them. They just get a hose down when I wash my bike. Functionally they seem fine. No heavy vibrations etc. Running a selle italia slr saddle. Same as roadbike
  7. Sorry. Was a long day. Meant at the rear
  8. There are lot's of reasons for these adjustments/"upgrades". From weightsaving, coolness factor, lower maintenance to "because the pros do it". So far I've done the following: Continuous cabling went 2x9 went 140mm rotor up front Shock cover (to keep mud/dust from entering between fork crown race and headset bearings) Went tubeless Got a cool front brake cable guide which attach to the fork Got gripshifts Got eggbeaters Got ESI grips Chainstay protector made from tube Running medium cage rd Ok, not so serious the second list , but what other upgrades are there?
  9. Aggies, my eggbeaters have taken some heavy knocks at Groenkloof on the rock and I must say, they hold up quite fine.
  10. If you search for it on the hub, you'll see that a lot of opinions have come and gone. I like my eggbeater sl's. You can't adjust the release like shimano, but they look really cool, they're lighter, good in the mudd and different to the rest.
  11. holy beautifull
  12. Nice. What happened next? Did they ride off the road or hit the brakes?
  13. As far as I know, you can. Although the width is a little bit different. I've heard of some people picking up problems, but mostly guys says it work. I have a 105 casette which I'll put on my other set of wheels this week and I use record on the bike.
  14. Don't see how she hurt her leg. Damn this is funny. When she stands and yells at him, she looks like one of the prawns from district 9
  15. Would like to know this ya. How can you test aerobic fitness in percentage? Surely something like VO2max makes more sense, but with persentage there's a limit and the human limit increas all the time. THat's why records still get broken. So will someone be more that 100%?? WAs also told at my company's medical that my bmi is too high and I should lose weight. I weighed 70kg at the time. The medical practisioner told me that I should not really weigh more than the last two digits of my height, that being 1.69m. What a wanker.
  16. You will be able to do it, but you could injure yourself.
  17. You're right, it's not really healthy to bounce your weight like that, but I think this one time won't be too bad. Should be interesting to see what happens with this "recipe for distaster". It's a gamble. My loosing 4kg in 5 weeks wasn't all that bad. It was right after 8 weeks of only hitting the gym due to injury, so some of it was muscle mass.
  18. I'm definatly not a stick. Just a shorty. Still, it's about putting in all the hard work and then losing it just like that.
  19. Clint, if your goal is healthy living, then go for the shakes. Nothing wrong it. It's a good balanced shake offering some nice protein. You can make it with water to lower the calories if you want. These shakes with carbs and protein tastes way better than whey protein shakes if you mix it with water. You can also opt for a smoothie. But one made at home or by kauai etc. Not a store bought one
  20. Don't think my bowel movements are that great.
  21. haha. Luckily I took my mtb with me. Good luck
  22. Must admit there were lots of draughts being consumed. Also the late night burgers and my brother only has risks in his room, which I consumed a whole box of. will see if I can try to get to 66 at the end of the week. Will need some carefully strategic methods, but should be a nice challenge. Need to drop the weight for isuzu 3 towers. So will carboload again next week. Crazy stuff
  23. My Monday rant on weightloss: it took me 5 weeks to go from 70 to 66.5kg with some serious healthy eating and less partying. Just came back from 10 days parting with my brother at stellenbosch. Also managed around 130km of mtb. Climb on the scale today and I'm back at 70kg. This sucks
  24. And I can't do one of the gauteng events. Damn you 3 towers
  25. Can't you go to troisport during the weekend. Some nice guys over there
