  1. Although a also get angry at people riding like this, I must admit that I have given it some thought, what you are saying. Is the guy cycling in the middle of the road not better of than the guy trying to stay almost off the road, getting clipped with the mirror. I guess, it still is Africa, so the European mindset probably does not apply here.
  2. Ai jai jai jai jai This is what a bit of rain does to us, when we cannot ride, then there's mud slinging on the hub. Get over yourselves all, julle maak 'n berg van 'n miershoop. If you're bored, go ride your bike, it is a nice day outside and the weekend we'll see the rain again. Praat van 'n klomp mans met nat panti's
  3. I think it means the organizers get a whole lot of money for the Specialized name being used.
  4. Anybody seen this: http://capetownbicyclemap.co.za/online-map/ I think it is quite cool, even if it is just to see where the authorities think it is safe for us to ride.
  5. I am a divorcee, after a year where I cycled about 80 times, don't even think that made me a real cyclist. But, traded up, now I go out for a 3/4 hour cycle over the weekend, when I return I am just in time to wake her up (she's not a morning person) If you take your marital status seriously, Listen!
  6. You guys are starting to make MTB'ing like golf. Just ride the bloody things and enjoy it.
  7. @SCHWINN LOVER, sorry bud but that is uncalled for towards @Smimby, if that is in fact the case that you do not like him, you will have to look past the personal agenda and get things done, especially if it is good suggestions or questions.
  8. On the Facebook page there are about 1400 members, I think it has been explained with the previous mud slinging contest there why it is not an ideal way to communicate and the post was mutually deleted. There is no way that you will get a solution to you problem when 1400 people each give their opinion about a problem and inevitably it will just change into a fight, like it will turn into a fight here. You are now doing exactly what the club try to avoid, complaining about a club that people are jealous of after seeing our trail on the Epic. Seriously, how can it be that important to see the constitution that you want to voice it here, what is in there that will make a difference in how we MTB? On the FB page it has been explained why maintenance can not be done before it starts raining and we get an update on that weekly. If you are concerned about the money, well, that is a different story all together, but then join the committee and sort it out. As for copying boards, no one will be able to stop that, if members feel that is what they want to do, you cannot stop that, but just to make sure they try, we now have the security company looking out for non members on our trails. The wire crossing, it is still private land, something that, if I remember correctly, we struggled to get, after the previous committee made a complete meal of it and we had to suck up to the land owners to be able to use it again. Anyway, like you say, each to his, but I really think this is bad taste of you to try and put pressure on the committee that we selected by posting this here and not setting up some sort of a meeting with the guys to discuss.
  9. Ok, so discuss, cause from where I'm sitting you are moaning about arguably the biggest and "best" club in SA
  10. I think if you clean your chain and lube it regularly it does not matter what you use, the all do the job.
  12. Wat vas fout met hom? Dit was mooi.
  13. Is that like the Anthem?
  14. @AfdElite I am with you on everybody supporting him, and now nailing him, but jeeze, is it possible that everything is going the well? I mean, he is not matching the other guys, he is killing them. I think one would just sort of think that somewhere he must have a bad day.
  15. It is amazing how Froome can go from hero to villain in 232 pages, I can see a Lance asult on him for the next few years. It is almost in his best interest to crack to squash roomers of him using drugs
  16. I was a member last year, purely to support he cause and also to get a CSA license.
  17. How is it possible that Andy Schleck can still not TT, if I was him, and had aspirations of winning a tour, "legitimately", I would be on that TT bike getting it right. Loosing 4:35 as a contender in a TT is just shocking.
  18. Dude, check out the Tour de Fance post, was discussed in details there.
  19. What pro in his right mind will do something like that intentional. Cav comes across as a descent guy to me. Really do not think he did it because he doesn't want to loose. Seems like a guy that is alway gracious in defeat.
  20. Unfortunately you are only as good as your last sale.
  21. I think that is exactly the point the OP is trying to make.
  22. 10k year gets you to more than just an average golf course. playing at you own club should cost you around R100 for 18 holes, no bike service afterwards and golf clubs is way less than the average bicycle in my opinion cycling, especially mtb'ing is way more expensive than playing golf
  23. @Sam LTC I had a friend who suffered with a knee, he was also very wary of surgery, ended up going to Jeroen Swart, who basically told him what was wrong and what he should do and to whom he should go, maybe that is an option for you? He deals with the top athletes and might be worth the money to get his input, or at least refer you to someone who can help you better.
  24. Would this also count as motor pacing?
