  1. Great that CWC have come to the party on this!
  2. And he is probably making more money now.
  3. I also use contacts and had a similar problem for awhile. Now I use a spray sunblock which has basically solved that problem. Think it is something along the lines of Techniblock or so.

Up to you. I have seen that in the past. But don't forget the climbs. Although your deeps will be nice on the downhill sections.
  5. Hahaha Blokman! Good one. Problem is the lines kept changing. And no, I did not have beer in my bottles!
  6. Reminds of a tv licence advert!
  7. Take the downhill at 12km (if you park in the main parking from N3 side) cautiously! Some tight corners and with the wind there it can be a bit tricky. Couple months back on the section just before the small descent to the Kareekloof gate a Zebra and another buck decided that they would each escape in opposite directions as I approached. Problem was that they were on opposite sides of the road and both decided to dart across the road just in front of me.
  8. I don't think that many of the total number of cyclists in SA are on the Hub. Back on topic, it is great to see some people connected to Scott coming to the party. And it is Friday!!!
  9. Just please don't go down the hill back to the car park. It is a one way up. Go straight and do the small loop. And there is an awesome long downhill to make you smile. I know it seems obvious but you won't believe how many people go against the one way and go down it.
  10. I had experience of this earlier this year! Luckily for me the LBS (Wyatt) provided excellent service and helped me out until a replacement part came!
  11. Well now that ASG have seen it and are at least considering it, we just need to get CWC to consider.
  12. You are all wrong! You meant to ride fast enough that the sweat dries instantly.
  13. Glad to hear. Something that you can do in future which I do. After you get the bike and before you ride it just go over the bike yourself. Check the shifting, the brakes etc. Just to be sure it is all working. Takes 5-10 minutes and can save lots of headaches. Just because you are so close to your LBS still check it out as the owner is probably not the one who works on your bike and has some employee that does the actual work who isn't as "close" to you.
  14. I like this idea! But then it must be administered through something like Wyatt's shop. Anything extra that gets raised can go to equipment etc.
  15. That used to be the rule for the seeding ladder which Cyclelab/Supercycling ran. But since that is no more that rule is gone as well. Now it is individual races that negotiate with Argus for seeding status. Thumbs up to AG for changing the venue. After last year's race and having to weave between cars in the closing kilometers I was convinced that someone would get killed sooner or later. At least now it will be thousands times safer! Well done AG!!!!

Last year I did a 2:44 but dropped my chain near the bottom of the first hill and had to chase hard. Think I managed to get back to the second group of A. The winning time for A was 2:39. Garyvdm, what did you do 94.7 in last year. If I remember correctly the trend I sort of found was that Shova times were in the region of about +-10 minutes more than 94.7 times.
  17. It might be expensive now but unique parts usually are. Especially if it is for a TT bike which isn't generally as widely used as a normal road bike. But the longer you ride the bike the cost per km comes down.
  18. Great to see some nice young talent coming through. Now we just need to develop him correctly and provide the proper support and opportunities.

Another friend and his gf that is staying with us is taking us to the start. Four of us riding and he has a trailer with space for four bikes. Then his gf is going to drive the vehicle back. Probably ride back to Umhlanga after the race. Where in Umhlanga are you staying? Edit: I am also A. As is Cyclewizz as far as I know.
  21. Enjoy all!!! Be fast and safe!
  22. What an idiot! And then the cyclist still doesn't cross! Almost killed for nothing.

Prozac, Cyclewizz is staying with me in Umhlanga. We will probably go past MMS. PM your details and we can meet up for a ride on the Saturday. That is where a wife or girlfriend (that doesn't race) helps.

It does take a bit of planning for logistics but not too bad. Not sure on weather as that can change in a few hours. I have had pouring rain at the start but full sun by halfway. Even rain-dry-rain-dry before. So just race whatever the weather.
