  1. Definitely film this "procedure" My 5 cents, do it outside your doctors so that you don't have to travel too far to get a "bundle" deal. Please also film your doctor as you explain why you are there
  2. Now that we live in America and celebrate Halloween and Black Friday, I'm convinced we are being hoaxed. I'm sure there are some deals but this sort of thing seems to be the norm - Black Friday Assos deal the same price as I bought from Marz a few weeks ago. Same applies to some IT stuff I was looking at. Black Friday in one store is normal in another. I wish I could find the article but last year I read that on a basket of goods, BF costs consumers 11% more than normal. We get lured in by one deal and slapped buy others with shiny black Friday tags. Beware, do your homework
  3. the standard Barzo claimed weight for 2,25 is 575 although actual Vittoria website says 525 - I weighed them at 605 - don't know what the Cape Cobra version weighs
  4. So clearly you've gone mad but doesn't it feel so rewarding when you put it on the scale and you are under. Just received upgrades on my open that got me so far under target that I am fitting heavier tyres because current ones fly uphill and make me $h!t myself downhill and on any corner. Looking toward to seeing you complete the last few steps
  5. Dear OP, I am really sorry it's descended to this when you were just asking a simple question - slow day in the office for some But what you have learnt is no bunny chows before races, some cyclists might pee in their pants but runners will take it to the next level, get a nice bib with lady openings and finally, everyone has to go at some stage and will happily slow down and look away whilst you bare your bum
  6. Thanks, I will try these Fast Traks as I've had them before - will check the weight against my Onza Canis and Onza svelt which I have on other bikes and have managed to keep upright - (mostly) Don't want the bike to be a porky 7.9kgs now do I?
  7. The cornering skills clinic is a must for starters but a seriously skilled rider told me he had one of his slowest downhills after one of his fastest uphills on my bike - Montagu pass in George
  8. Remember Myles, this is a gravel bike - 2.3 is wider than I ride on my Pyga stage - I don't go flying down technical terrain on flat pedals, ever - I'm cleated cruising along gravel but the current tyres don't even like that downhill. Combined with my poor skills, an accident waiting to happen
  9. So you were they guy I was hoping would respond - almost PM'd you - not a huge fan of any S branding despite great products but these were light - quick google says available in 2.1 and 2.3 - which are you recommending ? I'm not sure how my OCD brain will function with 2 different sizes rear and front and non matching tyres but it beats scraping myself off any of my regular 7 passes
  10. Pretty sure that if you bring it in as checked luggage, sports goods, you will have no hassle - If any questions are asked tell them they are second hand and worth less than R5000 - your girlfriend would have no hassles as a non resident and I seriously doubt you will encounter any hassles
  11. I have some new upgrades but that's not the reason for this post - The Open is terrifying downhill and particularly on corners - despite my 90kgs pushing the rubber onto the gravel, its a tad dangerous and I'm thinking tyre choice could be the reason and I need help - no doubt I'm opening myself up for a plethora of opinion but hopefully someone will make sense - Currently it rolling on SWorks renegade 1.9s - bear in mind this is a gravel bike that does very little technical terrain. These roll fast, weigh zip and this thing climbs like a mountain goat despite the jockey. I need to compromise a little because a crash is imminent - remember weight is important here - I can spare a few extra grams as its now 7.5 due to German ingenuity like a 98 gram Schmolke seatpost and a set of rotors at 68 grams each from trickstuff
  12. just received a package from them in 2 weeks - last one took 2 months
  13. I have Look SPDs, great contact area, shimanos, great durability and Eggbeaters which are light and look class. Weight is everything on that bike - and when they break, at least I'm pushing a light bike with a good looking bling set of broken pedals
  14. Because I have bike problems, I have ended up with XTR, crank bros 11 (bought purely because they are the lightest, and the Look X track on my mountain bikes. They all work, I just like the Look ones more because the base makes long rides comfortable. I now have 2 pairs of shoes because of the weight weenie bike with eggbeaters. My only issue with the eggbeaters is that the extra movement when cleated hurts my knee - google has given me ways to sort this
  15. was going to post this - watched it this weekend - had no idea they were based in Iceland and loved the fact that the pub and coffee section is bigger than their office space - have yet to start the Lauf project as I'm waiting for my frame to come back from painting - going to be a cheap build as I have all the parts - the horror on the 'dale' acolytes face will be the most enjoyable part of the build as the lefty gets tossed in the bin in favour of the Lauf
  16. Long ride inspecting the devastation of the 7 passes. I didn't take photos of the burnt pine plantations or the family mill where 400 people have lost their livelihood. I went to the Garden Route Trail Park to refuel but it's closed. Where the trails ran through forest, charred and smoldering stumps remain. Nature will recover but this fire has done some serious damage.
  17. Will be watching Carlo with interest after his amusing writing and will be my first Munga as a voyeur. Bought a Lauf fork off a hubber who is riding too and have been watching his training on Strava.
  18. Whites road takes you from Wilderness and connects up with the 7 passes road - it's a beautiful scenic climb and as difficult as you want to make it - nice to see the mountains in the background smokeless although there are still several pockets smoldering - it can be done on a road bike but both of my attempts at a PB ended up with punctures so I've given up If you're a Strava slut, you only have to top Matthys Beukes' effort, apparently done on a road bike and a full 5 minutes faster than my best in only 5.5 km - that's why I pay for my Pyga and why he gets paid for riding his
  19. It gets ridiculous. Like this crank I'm eagerly watching on eBay. £530 with 5 days left. I happen to know these are insanely expensive and how do I know this?
  20. from here on out the grams start becoming ridiculously expensive and you realise you are finally losing it when you start weighing bottle cage screws and in my case start wondering just where to start drilling holes in expensive kit. All this whilst drinking a 500g beer
  21. Ps there is a large stage for sale in the classifieds
  22. Johnson I have no idea but once you get an idea pm me please - I’d possibly take it - I have the purple stage a few pages back, awesome bike
  23. This is some feat, seriously impressive, I am such an amateur. I ride often, I have rarely notched up 300km in a week
  24. About 5000 on my X01 chain and nearing 50 percent - I keep my drivetrain spotless and don't do a lot of technical stuff so that's probably why - replaced with gold now because I upgraded to xx1 - the older drivetrain still has plenty mileage left and will move to another bike but get a new chain.
