  1. Friday?
  2. Find yourself a bikeshop that stocks Giant, Merida and Raleigh. You'll find the best bang-for-your-buck with those brands. My personal preference would be a Giant though. Anthem 2's should be going cheap now that the Anthem X2 is out.
  3. Willehond, how well does the power output correlate with your PowerTap? I know on my Flow the correlation is so wildly out as to make the Flow power reading unusable and irrelevant (after calibration).
  4. Bontrager Revolt Super X TRs with Stan's. Not one puncture in almost 2 years.
  5. There will be NO difference in the longevity of either of these shocks. The only difference is that the pro-pedal is adjustable on the RP23. Many people will be just fine with the stock settings of the RP2 (me being one of them). As a result of missing the extra adjustment dial' date=' the RP2 is also a few grams lighter.Note that the RP2 is only available as OEM, ie you can't go out and buy one as an aftermarket part somewhere.[/quote'] so the rep from omnico was talking K@K when he said that to me???? oh well thanks for making sure i dont use that line again Reps love to talk ***. 7. Try cheap engine degreaser from any hardware store. A lot more pleasant to handle than paraffin.
  8. If it needs to last, then use Competition spokes, with brass nipples.

    MTB Hubs

I've got American Classics in my racing wheels, but for training wheels I think XTR hubs are the only way to go. Mine are 4yrs old - NEVER been serviced, NEVER been opened up, and they roll as well as the day they were bought.
  10. Most definitely. An easy 70k before a race, with a relaxing coffee stop.
  11. I'd expect the loose wheel to be subject to a lot less resistance initially, eg less (a lot less) rolling resistance from no carrying no load and no wheel bearing drag.
  12. I use Wunderground for accurate current forecasts - someone has a weather station just down the road from me, so its always accurate. For forecasts I use windguru and accuweather, and sometimes the data from UCT (http://www.myweather.co.za/forecasts.html?mode=pretty&format=png&variable=t2m&view=southafrica&forecast=today)
  13. Any disappointment I had with climbing ability on my first DS was quickly erased the first time we hit a technical downhill. Some tweaks you can do before you get your fit checked out, is to make sure your front and rear shocks are set up with the recommended sag, rebound etc. Visit the shock or fork manufacturer websites to download the manuals. That can make a MASSIVE difference.
  14. Make sure you report it to the police. Take pics of the damage, keep copies of doctors bills etc. Unless the vehicle is stolen the police should be able to take things further. Hit and run is a pretty serious offence.
  15. Or just download here... http://www.campagnolo.com/jsp/en/doc/doccatid_1.jsp
  16. er, hands up anyone that can repair carbon!
  17. So in my little off on the weekend, I damaged one of my brake levers. Called the shop to get a price on a replacement lever. Can you believe it - R2,600 for a carbon lever, or R1,200 for the aluminium. That's for a single lever! Outragrageous. Needless to say I will be doing experimental carbon repair with superglue this evening.
  18. At the price range you're looking at, don't worry about brands. Get the best component package for your money - the frames are all very similar. If there's two similarly specced bikes that look like the ones, then choose the one that looks nicer or makes you feel better inside.
  19. Had a roof rack once. Also had my roof-rack-mounted bike go through my rear windscreen as I parked my car under low shade-cloth.
  20. I've got a Thule rack inside the loadbay of my bakkie. 60secs and we're on our way.

  22. F1 racers are all ponces. Sebastian Loeb - 5 times World Rally Champion!!!!!!!!!
  23. Anyone running the non-LUST with Stan's?
