Designed by Pierre Tereblanche. (spelling) A South African. He also designed the Cagiva Mito which looks like a mini 916

The 998.5 is what he called it He won on it at a rapidly drying Misano when it went in the other direction and it had that foreeeever opening left hander. Now it's a shitbox of a corner which is ever tightening. Horrible. Anyways he took a gamble and ran slicks instead of intermediates and as the track started to dry out just rode past everyone including Laconi who was Ducati's guy for the championship.

During that time Gobert was balancing his time between Kawi and Coke

I don't think it ever raced at WSBK. IIRC correctly the Alstare rider at the time, Frankie Chili described the bike as disgusting.
  5. Same! My vote goes to the Zipps.

That guy is something else. I'm hoping he makes a return soon. The mice have had way too much play time while the cat has been away. A mate of mine has the latest (as well as the not so latest) MM replica Shoei. Yoh Yoh Yoh!
  8. I think you might be pleasantly surprised. There's a good few Cayenne drivers down this end of the world who are SOOOO bored of riding the SAAME old Dogma F12 as all of their other mates. Good luck with the brand and the build. Looks amazing.
  9. So she was a meal-f?
  10. Mate I have also had a hell run 3 weeks at work. That might be 200m from my house but I haven't laid eyes on it. All I've done is sleep and work.
  11. That's 200m from my house

Agreed. Just after Foggy retired. Mad tracks with huge speed or massive elevation changes. Big ol booming V twins. Leigh Diffey screaming his commentary on tele. Ballsy riders who didn't fit into the gp cutout. Oh and the ridiculously fast Japanese riders embarrassing the regulars at Sugo At the time Bostrom was my guy. Rock n Roll look, Lambchops with a ciggie branded bike. But in 2002 I became an Edwards guy. I just wish he could have taken that 1 win in Moto GP at Assen where he and NH were battling. *Edit. Leigh Diffey has resurfaced calling Supercross.

I hate you! I've been trying to time a trip to the UK with the TT forever. I went to WSBK at Kyalami in 2002. Death bed memories. To be fair that was probably the zenith of WSBK. Looking at the results sheet on Wiki doesn't really do that year any justice. Edwards Bayliss Haga Corser Xaus Bostrom Tose Hodgson Chili Assen Imola Brands Kyalami Sugo Monza Laguna WSBK didn't have the pedigree of GP but IMO they got the show right.

Yes. Except. It's Valentino Rossi. Kelly Slater Tiger Woods Richie McCaw Lance (Cough) Michael Schumacher Valentino Rossi IMO he'll be the slowest guy on the Yam this year. But.... It's Valentino Rossi. A podium for Rossi will sell more R1's than a win for Franco.

9 titles for Rossi and one for Franco. Sounds about right to me.
  16. Hotttttt. It's got a bit of a System 6 look to me which is no bad thing. Maybe a bit of BMC? The Vanquish Elite would be my go to. 44k with carbon wheels and 105.
  17. I've had 2 sets and Saint's rub.
  18. The fulgaz one will have sweat raining on to the floor. Even with a Safeway headwind. My fulgaz weight is 32kg. #Weightdoping2021
  19. IIRC she hitch hikes at the Willowmore sign just outside Uniondale. Might be the other way round. The road has moved a bit north in recent years tho. IMO It's a unique and beautiful part of the country. Maybe not for everyone but I love the R62 and that sort of terrain.
  20. The road has moved about 100m north. That and her beau died some time ago.
  21. Real Road Racing is truly BIZARE!! Kevin Schwantz at the 1988 Macau GP. Making the road racer guys look a little silly on his 500. Is there a better sound on this planet than a 500cc Moto GP bike?
  22. Kneeboarder/Half man/Cripple.
  23. Remi Thirion on Giant. Hopefully they put a good structure together around him.
  24. Laird Hamilton and Dave Kalama. This is mid 90's. These guys were 20 years ahead of everyone.
