  1. Pulling a tearoff. I love it when the Supercross guys casually pull a tearoff over a 70 foot triple.
  2. That statement isn't AAACTUALLY 100% true regarding chairlifts. If you look at the 2 powerhouse countries in DH being France and the UK. The current crop of fast Frenchies all hail from the South of France. No chair lifts. Nico V and Fabien Barel also all come from the South of France. The UK have only 2 lift accessed tracks and they are both in Scotland. Canada has only produced 1 WC champion despite it's vast MTB infrastructure. If you look at surfing. The WSL is dominated by Brazilians and the waves are *** in Brazil. And Italo Ferreira grew up in a Flavela. Kelly Slater grew up in a broken home with an alcoholic father and comes from a town where the average waves are wind blown slop. It's hard work and desire that makes a great champion. Not access to the best of Blah blah and having **** handed to you on a plate. Eddy's statement about socio economic circumstances actually gets up my nostrils coz that's just an excuse. None of this is aimed at you or eddy of course. I'm just trying to make a point about circumstance vs outcome.
  3. I think he spent most of last summer with Theo and Duran in the PDS. Jasper also bases himself there for most of the summer. As did Matt Lombardi.
  4. That lightie is the real deal. Yes his folks are loaded but it takes HUGE stones to even consider those jumps and his bones break the same as anyone else's.
  5. But you can't put out a tender for R800 million for 1 sign. 3 signs minimum.
  6. It wasn't that long ago that riot police were deployed to HB beach to stop people walking their dogs on the beach during lock down. It's hard to believe it's the same country sometimes.
  7. The view is... Erm. Not inspiring.
  8. I watched this vid. Found it super informative. Maxxis only of course.
  9. Brendon I hate being the bearer of bad news but I spotted the Savages this morning going possibly harder than ever. No slow roll in solidarity of our injured comrade or any of that. I believe you may be the victim of a coup on top of all of your injuries!

  11. Haha. Bending crank arms bru. The timing chip stays on there for storage purposes. It's easier to just leave it on the bike than try fish it out of a drawer twice a year. Ja same for me bru. My 7.15 from this year was a test of patience more than a test of fitness. I'll be ready. Sani in May so Argoos will be part of the training plan.
  12. It was totally un believable this morning.
  13. Warning signs!! Really????
  14. I honestly think that if Theo got his head down and focused on racing he'd be a top 10 guy. *disclaimer. Big Theo fan
  15. Quite a lot of Frenchies have to have a bad day for Gwinn to win again tho
  16. Believe it or not it's more difficult to put on a wetsuit with hairless legs.
  17. The Fox and SC guys have been testing on this track (or some variation of it) for quite some time. *Edit. sorry meant to add that GM might have a bit of an advantage on it.
  18. You mean the camel leather bar tape?
  19. Moody chappies morning. A big thanks to the peleton of COMPLETE TWATS riding 2m OVER the white line. That little interaction has made me grateful to be alive
  20. OMG!! Someone called me an athlete. Woooohooo. This weekend the plan is to do a 5km run and then the Noordhoek fatboy cruise from HB and back. so just one kit change. Getting in and out of sweaty running and cycling kit was possibly not the best idea. I did the 2nd run leg in my cycling kit. Must have looked like a total berk but whatevers. Our house location is PERFECT for this type of malarkey being less than a km from the foot of chappies. *Edit. It's also pretty close to HB beach Maybe throw in a little swim? ......
  21. Did a micro duathlon on Saturday. Run 2 Cycle 12 Run 2 Cycle 12. It was pretty cool TBH. And interestingly the 2nd efforts for both disciplines were faster than the first efforts.

That's why bike racing is so damned exiting! The rider gels with the track and the track surface and tires gel with the way the bike makes power and magic happens. I think the main reason KTM are a bit hit & miss is that they run WP suspension (a KTM subsidiary) unlike the other teams who all run Ohlins. So their development curve is slower. So it's more hit & miss for them. The bike makes enough power and the riders are talented enough. It's just the other elements that sometimes don't come together. But be patient. It wasn't that long ago that KTM had never even won a Supercross race in the US...... He's not exactly nowhere tho. Just being on the grid in that championship makes you one of the very best on planet earth.
  23. The only rider to win a WC on a Morewood. An Izimu nogal.
