Weather looking fantastic - my wife and I definitely going through. Still undecided on the 45 or 65. If the 65 ascent numbers are correct on Facebook, I'm doing the 45. My wife says she's doing the 65 - "ons is mos nou hier!".

I have a different perspective because I'm doing the event together with my wife. Will be expensive, but hope I get a tent.

I have inquired about availability, especially after last year's debacle where tents were "first come, first serve" after lots of rain meant some tents were submerged under 2 inches of water ... that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Do you know how many times I've helped a rider out in an event or just out on the trails with something from my saddle bag of magic? Chain links, bombs, plugs, chain breaks, .... Too many times!!

We're staying with friends for the weekend on a farm near Slanghoek, with every intention of riding. Will make the call early on Saturday morning. I'll probably opt for the 50 km, but my wife who eats Duracell might have higher/longer/wetter/colder ambitions. I really do need to get her some counselling ...

To the OP, in other words the Original Poster, if you don't know what a thread is, I will assume that you're reasonably new to online forums such as The Hub. I found it quite intimidating at first, but I soon learnt to be true to myself, treat others as I would want them to treat me, and don't take matters personally when they don't. As others have said, it's only the internet after all. I have to agree that there's nothing I hate more than when somebody says use the search engine before asking a question. I say rubbish - some kind Hubber will gladly respond or send you to an appropriate link. Welcome!!

I went to nursery school just where that red car is in the road above your front wheel - David Davidson nursery school. And spent the first 5 years of my life in the flats on the very right of the picture just below the railing - Pepler Court. Not sure if it's still called that.

Ok. Apologies Jake. But how was Frans Steyn? SA's best 12 by far and equally adept at 10 as we saw on Saturday. And FETCHER Marcel Coetzee? A role Jake never used to believe in. The Stormers had nobody contesting the breakdowns, except Schalk on the odd occasion. They missed Deon Fourie. Polished performance by the Sharks. I hope they can go all the way!!
