  1. Same old story of a few a-holes spoiling it for the rest of us. The situation in Hermanus is the same, where some guys ride the trails without paying. in fact, they REFUSE to pay the 300 bucks PER YEAR... I think that prosecuting a few trespassers would stop this unacceptable behavior once and for all.
  2. Most asthmatics use medication - I use a new generation inhaler and a nosespray for allergic rhinitis but neither can combat lungs full of dust. I want to eliminate the problem, not medicate it.
  3. Have two buffs but I am unsure whether that actually work (ie filter the air)...also, they lead to serious fogging of glasses. I was hoping for a better solution
  4. As I suffer from allergies and asthma, dust during training and (especially) races can trigger an asthma / coughing attack and leave me wheezing for hours afterwards. Can anyone recommend a good dusk mask, which will filter dust/pollen/pollution and which is suitable for use while riding a MTB? Also, an indication where to purchase and at what cost would be very much appreciated.
  5. so, how did it go?
  6. shooting...off their mouths

  11. Fratelli's to top of Emmarentia gardens via Delta Park (and vice versa) is a lovely morning ride, even in the dark/cold.
  12. RIP to the MTBer and condolences to the family/friends
  13. Definitely NOT an Oscar (too many negative connotations...)
  14. Except Strava is a bit like a product for nappy rash - unless you have a bike/baby, you've never heard of it...
  15. Damn those evil Canucks!!!
  16. Could be a bad/old batch of beans, wrong grind, inexperienced barista, machine too hot or any one of many other factors. I had a capp from WW in Cavendish Square on Sunday and it was perfectly acceptable.
  17. Race starts in less than 48 HOURS...
  18. nice photo! good work
  19. I would also check the suspension/manufacturer specs for any weight limits on the dual-susp (front and rear). A BIG (180kg) mate of mine was advised to get a hardtail, as no dual-susp on earth could handle his weight. There is a "clyde" (as in the BIG horse) forum on mtbr.com - go check it out. Most posts say that 300lbs/135kgs SHOULD be ok...
  20. we leave for Underberg in 48 hours - cannot wait any longer!
  21. The new Fox CTD set-up procedure also left my rear shock too pap, despite following the instructions closely. When I added 20psi of pressure, the rear shock worked like a charm! I think it is definitely a trial and error process...as unscientific as that may be.
  22. I am 188cm and a Specialized Camber LARGE is big enough.
  23. Top work, RR...really top class
