I used to be a golf nut, then i semigrated to the Cape and went for a MTB ride once, then again and again and i havent been on the course for 4 years now, dont miss it much. What did it for me was one day after i started riding MTb i was playing a round of golf at erinvale and i looked up at the mountains and i thought i would rather be there then here. Never been back to a course since.

Agreed there were a few entries on the hub last month going for 17k for team entry.

Was always a 360 life fan for this event but i have to admit Stauser are the true champions this year. Well done to them they not only won this event they monstered it. Doubt if the gap between 1 and 2 will ever be this high again. Truly dominant and awesome effort. Dont want to jinx them but only an eartquake will stop them now.

I have a 26Ds and was thinking of going to 29er but im short 5 ft 8 and 29er could be wrong for me, so i wouldnt hesitate at getting 27.5 for my next ride, so i guess i would be keen make sure its a DS, hardtails arent my thing.

I find it amazing that everyone is interested in what he makes. Its got sweet F all to do with any of you. What he makes is his business he isnt a politician or a JSE listed executive that has to account for his lifestyle. He had an idea, he made it happen, he gets rewarded just like any other entrepreneur. He sells a product/service that people can purchase or not, just like every other business. He deserves every cent he makes you think its easy pulling off an event of this magnitude. Please anyone who "wants to know what he makes do tell us what YOU make and how u make it?......hmmmmm thought so,

Mate i agree with you whole heartedly. I almost had a brawl at the Argus last year with some tjop who chucked his energade bottle in the bushes. I called him a pig and he still had the nerve to try an argue the fact. Arrogant pr8cks.

Im thinking of getting a 2006-08 swb pajero either petrol or diesel. Do Any hubbers have any experience with these vehicles, good or bad ?? Heard the diesel are slow and noisy and the petrols thirsty but need hands on opinion not hearsay.

Sorry shoulve been more specific. The Pnp MTB argus challenge is on the same weekend as the grape escape its organised by the same people and the day 3 is the same route. My point is the GE costs 2450 and the MTb argus 65km which is the same as day 3 costs 180. My point is why dies the Ge cost so much as its a self catered for event amd you basically paying R 850 a day ride

I just entered the Pnp MTB Challenge on Sunday 4 march 65km ride. Cost = R180. Its the same route as day 3 of the grape escape. Cost of the Grape escape = R2 450. So basically the first 2 days are costing R 1 100 each. Doesnt make sense to me why they charge so much for this race. Am i missing something here??

I have a Brand new carbon 29er , with assos kit, top of the line white mtb shoes. Oakley sunglasses ,a garmin to track my cadence, heart rate, calories burnt and more important than anything my time. So when i see some chop having fun on my singletrack he best move over as i will be coming thru hard and fast. Races are my life. time is my lover and my power meter is my best friend. So to all the average joes out there best u pick up your game. I live my life one race at a time doesnt matter if i win by a half wheel or by a mile a win is a win.

At the argus this year im riding behind this twat who just chucked his energade bottle in the bush by misty cliffs. I lost my temper rode up to him and vloeked him like like a mad man on tik. Rest assured he will think twice before he chucks his kuk on the rd again

That would probably be the right thing to do. I have been very slack as of late with my bike maintenance maybe its the bikes way of telling me to wake up.
