  1. what do you mean it is almost winter?????? don't even start thinking this way!!
  2. congrats epoh - seems you and I are in the same boat! may my wife NEVER EVER EVER find out how much all this is costing me - or even worse - discover how dangerous the Engen Classic is every morning! i should also add that i feel a million times better than i felt last year this time - no more visits to the Morningside ER thinking that I am getting a heart-attack on my way to work!
  3. i am surprised that this has not caught on here - it looks like a lot of fun looks like a lot of hard work!
  4. i think that most of the supplements coming from the US is of a far better quality than the rest - especially a widely used product such as CYTOMAX. if there is any harmful ingredient in there, they would not be around anymore as they would be bankrupted in lawsuits long ago! the US manufacturers do far more testing and quality control on their products due to the fact that it is very easy to get involved in a legal battle & the last thing a company needs is a class-action against them. same of course goes for EAS. so no - i dont think that it is harmful to your body (riding for 4 hours without applying sunscreen every 30mins is of course harmful to your body - so is being in the sun without some UV protective clothing & i have seen none of that around for cycling)
  5. i could reply a 100 things to this, but just don't have the time right now! Dr. Seuss2007-02-01 02:25:44
  6. CSC uses it - enough said!
  7. laftimune & glutamine - the stuff actually does work! doug did about 95% of the work up front with the rest of us chewing our stems off behind him.
  8. and where were you & marco this morning bruce? only saw one cow in a red circle in the pack and it was neither of you two! went long - only 6 of us - with doug setting the pace as usual - ave was 35km/h when I dropped hard going up timber hill!
  9. i think you are too small to handle the 808's
  10. nice one MWNN - how does she ride? and the SRAM?
  11. ave speed of the ride tueday's / thursday's is anything from 33 to 35 km/h with "stops" depending on the group you ride with. starting to think that these rides are getting a bit dangerous with the numbers turning up. (narra - if you can stick with the front guys going up jan smuts it is a good indication of what it is like to race licensed vets!) fatty - are we seeing you there later this week?
  12. megawatt park - top of Witkoppen road @ 06:00 (it is close to the start of the 94.7). there will be a ride, just don't know how many people would be there - the non-racers would be there for sure. when are you guys arriving - if on wed / thursday join us for the engen classic - dangerous as hell - about 60 cyclists on the road in bunches of 30 + trying to pass each other & skipping red lights!
  13. really dont see that much of a difference between v4 and v5
  14. hagar - the jhb guys are always a bit afraid of the CT guys stealing their girls - especially the girls from Pretoria (they are very easy!!! - just ask tooHOT!) - I suspect it has something to do with PT being so flat and without an ocean.
  15. Club 100 or Cyclelab is your closest - just dont tell them that you are from teh cape!
  16. yep - i think all of the clubs here have rides on the saturday / sunday even if it is a "race week-end"
  17. club 100 - megawatt park - 06:00
  18. downloaded the v5 - still has that stupid screen redraw thing, but at least it only does it once!
  19. bad news indeed! i really don't like hearing things like this.
  20. take a number - already happened on tuesday & thursday this week going up jan smuts chasing andrew!
  21. thanks GrantC - seems my best (& safest) bet would be to take the car to southbroom & ride to wild coast sun & back. as the alternative i can always leave the bike @ home for a week, but then bruce & his new mates are going to kill me in the first couple of races!
  22. this is good news - i tried the "chunky-big-blade-11" trick this morning & lasted all of 5 minutes until the first little bump in the road appeared. needless to say me legs was stuffed for the rest of the ride!
