  3. ok, thanks for the tip - time to dust off the fly-fishing rods & start spending my saturdays & sundays on the vaal or in dullstroom again! (excellent - i can even start consuming vast quantities of draught again - really do miss ice cold stella from the tap!)
  4. looks like i wasted my money on my license! i am starting to think that it would be best for me to just enter the races in the open cats & enjoy the scenery.

  6. bikemax is the expert here, but i will take a guess at it. keep in mind that i don't do intervals myself (know that i should!) and i also push the small blade 99% of the time but: i think the answer lies in what you are training for - the short, 1 minute intervals would help for covering the break or the surges in the pack during a race & the hill climb would of course help for a hill climb. perhaps do the 1 minute intervals on one day, and the hill climb intervals on another. i am sure that both will raise your LT, but i suspect that only the hill climb would increase your muscular power.
  7. what i like most about the fizik is that you can move up & down with comfort on the saddle due the the extra length. motorpacing behind a tandem and you can move right to the front moving closer over the BB. on hard climbs you can move right to the back allowing for more power on the downstroke. with the selle italia you have one position and that is where you stay.
  8. so what happened to you this morning? saw you at the start leaving way before the big boys start. did you go long?
  9. happy to report that the FIZIK is great - took a bit of adjustment, but it seems 100% now. had to lower the seatpost substantially to compensate for the height of the actual saddle - the fore / aft adjustment took some time.

  15. i wish!! i found that golf (or any ball sport for that matter) is a far easier & humane way to embarrass myself in front of others! (GP - how did the legs feel on saturday after the holiday?)
