  1. All, Just invested in the new Tacx Flux Smart Trainer and now want to use the capabilities of the smart trainer. I have been using TTS4 for quite some time (I have a Tacx Genius) but want explore Zwift. I have been reading up on it but I cannot seem to find answers on my questions. Zwift seems to evolve around online riding with other Zwift riders around the globe. Does that mean I can only ride at predetermined rides/events? If I come home and decide to ride, will I be able to? If so, will there be other riders? Will I be on my own if I do not join pre-scheduled events? In essence I want more info on how the rides are initiated. How are the routes determined? There seems to be only two worlds (Watopia and Richmond) but seems to be VERY short. I generally do rides between 40km-70km. Are such routes available? Is there enough climbing on these routes if I want to do some good hill training? How steep are the hills? Is Zwift vs TTS4 Real Life Videos worth it? Some feedback will be REALLY appreciated.
  2. New season started. Maddie le Roux from South Africa is a finalist.
  3. Hi all, What is the cheapest smart indoor trainer that is compatible with zwift? It has to be the one that can automatically change the pedaling resistance according to the app. Trying to get an IDT set up going without breaking the bank... So far I have : * An old laptop / ipad * Internet * Old fan * Old roadbike * Space in the garage / house Any other equipment I need? If anything I've mentioned above has been covered elsewhere please do me a favor and post links? TIA
  4. Zwift stops syncing with Vitality every three months as the security token expires and requires the Vitality technical team to manually reset it. Is there anyone else that is experiencing this issue. Everything worked perfectly until late November 2022.
  5. Hello everybody, I am brand new to Wahoo / Zwift, so I hope I don’t embarrass myself with this question: I have tried one or two rides on Zwift but I don’t feel like the Wahoo Kickr resistance is appropriate for gear/cadence/speed that I am meant to be feeling (maybe I’m weak). I discovered my GRX rear derailleur has a clutch which helped take the slack off the chain but I still think it is not calibrated correctly. I have tried with ERG mode in and off. I have also done that spin down calibration. I’m not sure how to check, but surely there is a way to select different cassettes under settings to ensure the Wahoo configuration is correct for the bike. I did a interval session today and it was an absolute disaster trying to maintain the 85rpm cadence but keep the watts low enough to 65W in zone 2. When the cadence went up to 110rpm I would exceed the watts required by 200-300W which doesn’t seem right. Any suggestions would be super great! I have a Wahoo Kickr 4 with and Silverback Siablo CF (2023 spec):
  6. What amazes me the most is how this clown thought this would be a believable performance. Some time back I was asked to look at data and give my analysis on riders performances when the whole zwift racing became a big thing; this guy popped up, my analysis was there was no way it was legit and he would never be able to produce the numbers pushing out. I got pretty heavily abused when I was vocal about it and some of his zwift mates chimed how it’s all legit and and. fast forward to today https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2022/12/zwift-uci-cheating-astounding-championship-qualifier.html https://toyotacryordt.team/disciplinary/ ZwiftPerformanceVerificationDecision-2022-02-Hoole.pdf
  7. Hi all To help get myself back into riding after a stupid long absence I picked up a road bike and Kickr Core. Setup is complete and I guess I need to sign up to some sort of guided app. I've identified the three options above but I can't really see which would benefit an unfit riding most. What i've found so far is that the gamification of Zwift is pretty cool but the app is still serious. All my sensor and Apple watch connects seamlessly. Sufferfest seems more like a pro solution. Bit of a learning curve with the interface. Fulgaz seems straight forward. I'm leaning towards Zwift for its simple and fun approach.. Any feedback from the more experienced indoor riders?
  8. I see the Swift Academy finals popped up on YouTube yesterday.
  9. Posting on behalf a friend, Devin Shortt, who has spent the past seasons racing in Europe. He is doing the Zwift Pro Academy where the winning rider is awarded a professional contract. He's looking to rent a smart trainer for the month of September. The trainer needs to be a direct drive trainer (Wahoo Kickr or similar). Obviously, he is happy to pay a negotiable rate to rent the trainer as well as a cash deposit. If you are willing to help out (or know of someone) please send Devin a Whatsapp on 071 402 0731.
  10. I'm new to latest indoor smart tech and got myself a Tacx Flow S. I have 2 options offered in the box for 1 month free for the Tacx software and same for Zwift. I want to go straight to the better one of the 2. Advice from users greatly appreciated.
  11. My pretty powerful Dell work laptop crashed. I was using it for Zwift, paired with my Tacx Flux Smart Trainer, with no issues. I've now had to start using my backup laptop, a cheap Lenovo Ideapad 3, and I'm having persistent connection problems. Trainer pairs with Laptop, but then loses connection almost immediately. So, Bluetooth is working, just losing signal/connection after pairing, meaning I can't do any rides or workouts. Any ideas on what the issue is and how I might fix it. Online advice seems to be: "Get an Ant + dongle." I don't know what this is, and I don't know if I can get any Ant + Dongle, or if it must be one made specifically for Tacx devices. Any advice welcome. TIA.
  12. Hi guys I want to start using Zwift soon. I have yet to get Wi-Fi and wanted to know if 50mbs both up and down is sufficient? I live alone and we have fibre in the area.No one else will be using the Wi-Fi . Any advice will be highly appreciated. Cheers
  13. I did not know this! No win for Byron but tons of good marketing for the man! https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/alex-bogna-scores-life-changing-alpecin-fenix-zwift-academy-contract/
  14. In the first week of February, my son’s Zwift child account was deleted without warning or explanation. When I enquired about this, the Zwift agent’s reply was that “Over the past several months we have been working on updating documentation around child accounts to meet compliance requirements. During this time, we have made several attempts via email to contact guardians requesting an updated consent form and warning of account deletions should we not receive the updated form”, and that my child’s account was deleted during this process. Apparently, the only way around this was for me to register him for a new account. I could find no trace of any of these “attempts” in my inbox. Of course this could have slipped through, so I asked the agent to kindly forward an example of one of these attempts. I also re-registered a child’s account on Feb 9. It is now Feb 16, and despite 3 further enquiries from me, I have not had a single further response from Zwift, neither has the re-registration been effected. I posted this on the Zwift Facebook page, but within minutes the post seems to have been removed by them. I am baffled by this level of service from a reputable company like Zwift. What I find even stranger, is how this episode contrasts with past experiences. The first time I registered my son’s child account, things happened literally within hours, and the agents were extremely helpful. Of course I can simply move to a different platform; however, I have put many hours into creating a whole bunch of workouts in Zwift. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Any advice? Franclo
  15. Hi Does anyone have the Argus route file I can export to zwift and use as a training route,if it's possible Regards
  16. Hi there I just obtained a second hand CycleOps Fluid trainer. I can connect the trainer to my Mac via ANT+. I have tested the trainer out and the wattage is very low. I can't calibrate the trainer on Zwift as the spanner to calibrate it does not appear. Any ideas of how I can re-calibrate this? I can't use the CycleOps App because I would have to connect via bluetooth.
  17. I am sure this is a boring question that had been asked before. If “yes” just refer me to some links – thanx. Using a Saris H3.
  18. Help: Something new has started happening to my Zwift. My Flux and Ticker seems to connect, but then it immediately says connected but No Signal. This is direct with PC BT. I have tried to connect via Companion and this works for all of a few seconds and then Companion disconnects and its back to No Signal. I have done PC reboots, turned the Flux off for extended periods, its the same old thing. The BT devices seem fine as they connect to the Zwift phone app and Garmin's fine. Am I missing a basic setting?
  19. This year's event is kicking off at 6pm local time tonight. I see some 6 000 people have already committed to the 3 distances, which makes me think that it would be prudent to perhaps rather go for the 7pm event. Same format as TDZ, where there are distance options for each of the stages. I will be attempting to do both distances each week (Keep in mind the stages do not start on the same day each week, but starts consecutively after each other.)
  20. Hi all, Looking for some advice here please. I am trying to use Zwift on my Mac. Most recently, almost every second day, I am getting an "Internet Connection error - ZLM04". It ONLY happens on my Mac - I have uninstalled and reinstalled, checked the internet connection, changed the Wifi that the mac connects to. If I try to connect on the same wifi through my Android phone or Apple - no issues. Please can someone give me some troubleshooting advice. I am about to throw the Mac, or the Zwift out the window as I can't keep fighting with tech at 6:00am just to get a ride in Thanking you all!
  21. Hi guys, I am looking to get myself set up for Zwift as I see my workload increasing the next couple of months and not really keen on being outside late at night when streets are deserted. I run about 4 times a week and mountain bike whenever I can. I was looking at getting a smart treadmill such as the Everlast Trail but it will take up quite a bit of space and not really sure how Zwift run compares to the cycling and if it will be worth it. Am I better off getting an entry-level smart trainer for my mountain bike instead, such as the Tacx Satori? I hear another problem is that mtb tyres get destroyed quite quickly, will I need extra wheels? Any other recommendations would be appreciated. I have a Silverback Sola 4 mountain bike. Thank you!
  22. Hi guys, I hope this is the right section for this post. I just took delivery of a Wahoo Kicker Core. I was hoping to use my Garmin HRM to pair with the Zwift Android app on my Galaxy S9+. I managed to do this successfully with Trainerroad but cant seem to get my ANT+ Garmin HRM to pair with Zwift. Has anybody else encountered this and is there a work around?
  23. Hi Guys... Does anyone run a MTB setup need some help thanks..
  24. Hi there everyone. With the the surge in Covid-19 I thought it would be a good idea to move my training indoors again. When I fired up my Elite Suito I updated the software and firmware on my Upgrado App and tried to do a chill ride in Innsbruck. However, going uphill or downhill the resistance didn't change AT ALL, and I churned out an even 2.5W/kg or so for an entire hour, with only the speed changing on uphills or downhills. VERY frustrating! Has anyone experienced this that can maybe help me out with a solution? Any help would be much appreciated.
  25. Hi ladies and gents. From tonight cycling outside is verboten, but not inside! So, lets have regular group rides on Zwift, we chat, ride and chill together, share stories, and give each other strength and comfort during this surreal, dystopian and terrifying time. So, I will be organising meet ups, and everyone is welcome, whether beginner, weekend warrior, or cycling god. The idea idea is to ride together as a bunch, but I guess anyone who wants to ride away at be at 5w/kg is most welcome. Anyway, follow me on Zwift, and I will invite you to my meet ups - just maybe also post your zwift name on here, or pm it to me, so I don’t miss anyone out. My Zwift name: Harry Nochumsohn The first ride is at 6pm tonight (joburg time) and we are riding 60 mins of the Watopia Out and Back route. Note : I have it on very good authority (aka @V12man) that we should quite ride easy at this time, so as not to compromise the immune system. So the rides are just “coffee rides” - not opfok sessions. I will be going be going slow, but only cos i cant go fast. But each to his own. If you do not have a smart trainer, you can use an ordinary dumb trainer with a speed sensor and an ant + dongle. Here’s how : https://youtu.be/Eg0IDDmSStw
