oh dear Ferrari. Don't remember a team making so many mistakes.

One car fastest in Q1 and another having an early shower

The youngster didn't look to happy with his team

Charles was a laugh tearing his entire car apart, I wish he nursed it back to pits, would have kept me awake watching him dive down the inside on every single corner.

Sainz was my driver of the day by far for his overtake in turn 3 on the first lap, that skill on cold tires, dirty side of track and cm to spare. Nobody else comes close.

Perez did well not to kill those 2 Marshals that ran the wrong way, massive kudos to him.

Rain would have been great.

Loved the Fin's keeping on asking about the ice hockey, which they won vs Canada and next race is Canada :P

Reminded me of another never-say-die driver....

Pity Max didn't hit him a bit harder with 3(?) laps to go after the tunnel.

Agreed  .

But, is this the new-look Max? I can't believe he didn't have a serious lunge long before that half effort. Have the team and media messages gotten through to him, and he's actually driving more maturely/sensibly/boringly (?). Granted he was never really close enough but thats never seemed to stop him in the past....

To say I am cross today is an understatement. You only have to read all the tweets and interviews from EVERYONE EXCEPT Toto, Lewis and most Merc fans that it was the worst decision ever. I have not seen/heard one ex driver/reporter say it was the right call. It has become clear that Merc/Wolff and Hamilton are in bed with the FIA and they will do anything to have the outcome they desire. Lewis, Merc and FIA have well and truly ruined F1 for a lot of people yesterday. Not actually sure I will tune in to see them race in France.

First race in ages I've watched - since something always happens at Canada. As it turns out, the most boring Canadian GP in living memory, plus then that bull.

Think they've lost a lot of viewers last night.

didn't watch it. what happened? Sounds juicy.

Maybe merc will finally have a feature role in the next season of F1: drive to survive. These days, i support F1 just enough that netflix can have a new season of that soapy. love it!

There, that's more realistic.

All that the those moronic stewards managed to achieve last night, apart from putting a most hideous smirk on Hamilton and Wolff's faces, was to make it clear to all the drivers that next time something like this happens, the right thing to do would be to put yourself and your fellow racers into the wall. Damn trying to save your car. Damn racing incidents. Anything as long as you avoid getting penalized for racing your car, because you are a racing driver....

I 100% agree,

just looking at past incidents NOT penalized at all:

Hockenheim 2018 where Hamiltom enters pit entry, cuts across grass and zero penalty

Monaco 2016, also Hamilton, similar incident and no penalty

Mexico 2016, Hamilton again, cuts track Lap 1, no safe entry and no penalty

Verstappen Suzuka 2016, rejoins track forcing Kimi wide, he GETS A PENALTY.

Double standards much........

Actually a lot of the comments I've seen from Merc fans online were also disagreeing with the penalty.

I'm done with F1, it's going to take a lot for me start to watch again. It's becoming a farce!

And the very little respect I had for Hamilton is totally gone, with his fake sympathy and acting on the podium. Reminded me of Schumacher and Barrichelo in Austria 2002, when Schumie pulled Barrichelo onto the top step only after hearing all the boos.

Loved it when Vettel went and switched the number boards in front of the cars in parc ferme.

Hows that for being hypocrites: Lewis complains on the radio to Totto about Seb's rejoining of the circuit, but then he wants to pull Seb up onto the 1st position on the podium. Totto and Lewis are proper boxes, and that smug look on TW's face when the race ended said it all. the FIA is to Mercedes what the ICC is to the Indian Cricket Team. how in the hell can the entire commentary team, most of whom are ex world class F1 pilots, agree that it should not be a penalty, and then the race director issues a 5s penalty???

Not the biggest Seb fan, but that was ridiculous. cant wait till we have a Schumacher back in the Red Car, get some class back in the sport.
