Probably Jinja where Lake Victoria flows out into the Nile

if all goes well, in a few years I will be going round Lake Victoria, cannot wait to see the start of the Nile!

Also want to see Lake Turkana, and Lake Malawi. Actually all the big lakes :)

If you get the time, you can do a day of white water rafting from Jinja. It's brilliant, floating down the Nile, interspersed with moments of sheer terror as you approach the rapids.

Think we did it with these guys:

Utterly Majestic and so ahead of it's time.

I wonder how long it will take before a passenger plane goes supersonic again.

I doubt it will be any time soon. Aviation is on such a drive for efficiency and being "greener" that doing something that requires seriously thirsty engines is not viable.

aaahh man jealous!

however, Laura, who will be 10 or 11, might not like the idea!

Yeah, mebbe not. I remember at one rapid as we plummeted down I had fallen out and looked up and the raft was actually above me...

Cannot find any pics of the concorde in CT.

This one is from JHB.  (ORT)

Wow that's interesting... I was always under the impression Concorde couldn't (or wasn't allowed) to fly into JHB due to noise regulations or something.

Also, when standing next to one on the ground, you realise how much smaller it is than most modern planes. Much like the first time you get close to the A380 a small part of you thinks 'this thing is NEVER going to get off the ground'
