Yip, was 76 cents (zar) to the dollah when we arrived in 1976. My ole man came with dollars as he thought it was better currency than Belgian francs at the time. ( the right call I guess)

Can not really compare to that, as in '76 I was not born yet, but on our honey moon we were traveling at R6/$ ......
