I discovered my favourite sci-fi author (Neal Asher) because I was bored at an airport one day and couldn't decide what book to buy to read on the plane. The cover caught my eye (amazing art by Jon Sullivan) and made me pick up the book to read the description. So glad I did... I don't think the paper wrapping is a bad idea - I do think it's a bit of a gimmick, though.
