Darn, feel so tired today. Been awake since before 04h00.

Only thing I am excited about... I can cycle to work again. I am blessed with a chance to get on my bike and cycle to work again. Stay safe out there guys and girls, and don't be a dwis out there...

Traffic in cape town northern suburbs this morning was HECTIC! luckily none of that affects me on the bike. Loving it!

The song is put together nicely with the video.

This does not look very safe. I understand the need to ride defensive in order to keep yourself safe. but this is more reckless riding than defensive riding.

I usually leave the office early (around 3 in the afternoon), today was an exception (left just before 5). Halfway through the very slow 20km drive I realized that cycling home would have been faster.

Nice vid! Shows how one has much more freedom on the bike, especially in traffic! (Personal highlight: drafting the truck)

Started prepping my bike for the wet season today. Gone is the white lightning Epic (it cant even stand up to the dry season needs for commuting so not sure how it would cope in the wet) replaced with Smooth (lets hope it works) shock checked.

Tomorrow will bring along a lighter wallet. Need to replace the Derailleur wheels (not sure which once to get)

Need to replace the disk of the read wheel as well. Just need to get the correct set.

So lets see if the weather service was right this time and that we can expect some rain this week.

Frustrating to have to avoid broken beer bottles on the cycle lane on Monday mornings.Would have thought Heineken drinkers would have more class.

From personal experience it is safe to say that no matter what price tag is on the bottle all class is dissipated at an equal rate to the amount of liquor being consumed. For most people in our country that is. Sometimes i wish i lived in an Arab country where alcohol was prohibited.

Taking my dog for a walk is tricky, lots of broken beer bottles to negotiate...

Raining in Jhb at the moment, think I will take a chance and take the bike to work tomorrow, hopefully no rain so that I can cycle home in the afternoon. If it rains in the afternoon I may do a "Rule 9".

On my way home from work I saw a bicycle commuter with an Umbrella (looked like the Chinese paper kind), not sure if it helped much but it was entertaining.

I am glad I missed the rain in PTA today, but drivers out there were real twats.  Almost had an accident when a female thing with a Hilux from the Freestate decided that she had to pull out infront of me.  I am just glad I saw what the thing was going to do, so I moved over to the other lane (glad there were no oncoming traffic)  I was doing about 50 km/h to get away from a taxi that hooted the whole time (not sure what the thing wanted)

I should have taken her mirror off for her.  Hat female things in their 4x4's.  They have this attitude of an god.  or wait, is that satan (do what you wilt)

Its commuters like you making live hell for the rest of us. I've been commuting northern suburbs - sandton for the last 4years. Never have any alterations with motorist what so ever.

This hitting mirrors off is not going to end well for you, neither is using pepper spray on motorist . Do some introspection and when you or on a bike respect the cars , you are playing a dangerous game with a high price. Stop trying to teach motorist lessons or to police cars you are not the traffic police .

Leave cars alone stay out their way and assume you are invisible to cars.

Read my post again and then attack me again.

I did, the fact that you get upset by so many drivers ( excluding the idiot driving on the side on the gravel) means you are not reading and predicting the actions of cars. Once you can master that you will never lose your temper again. Not at cars or pedestrians .

Next time you gooi n vinger, hit a mirror or kick a car you will forever change the attitude of that driver towards cyclist, no more friendly waves or gaps given to me thanks to idiotic behaviour like yours
