My daughter's cat was an only pet for 14 years.

Hated all other animals and defended her turf with aggression.

Recently moved in with my daughter again after 5 years away at university

( daughter , not cat) and had to share with the lab.

Now they are mates. I still can't believe it.

I have been in Australia for the last 9 days and I cannot believe how much I have missed my dogs. My wife sent me this pic last night only to make me miss them more:

You would never find a basset sleeping near a bowl with food still in it!!!

For those wonderful supporters that voted for Emily in the recent Montego Heroic Tails competition, today was the prize giving held at Husky Rescue near Lanseria. Emily not only won her category but was also the overall winner. Her prize consisted of a years supply of Montego food and cash, both of these are being donated by Emily to Husky Rescue to help out the other huskies still needing assistance.

I must say, I'm also a fan of Huskies.. just a pity I don't have a big enough yard to have one.

You would have to travel a long way to visit that husky, she is the marketing lady from Montego and based in Graaff Reinet.

They don't necessarily need a huge yard, as long as you are prepared to take them out regularly for exercise and they have some company (human or dog) while you are out during the day. There are people in Singapore that have huskies in apartments but they take them out twice a day for walks and runs.

See www.huskyrescue.co.za for more info on the pros and cons of the breed.
