At least I can "talk about it" now...

After a setback a while ago Nugget was much improved. But last couple of weeks was a real struggle, in and out of vet and everything, we could hardly get him to eat, even treats. In the end an old heart and cancer in both lungs, very bad, as well as plenty in the abdominal areas won the battle during the week.

Even through all of this, he kept his smile and wag in his tail to hide his pain. At least he's now running free at the Rainbow bridge.

Aaah, they can creep so deeply into one's heart these furballs.

Thanx for sharing, Seabee

Shame - our rescue pup had to go in for some pretty hectic surgery on Tuesday. She had a broken tooth - probably from way back when she chewed through whatever to escape, and had to have 3 teeth removed, and an abscess drained. Doc reckons what happens a lot with rescue pups is they don't get the correct nutrients when they are young, so things like teeth (and in her case her whole lower jaw) never really develop properly. So no more bones and stuff for Gracie! He also reckons she was probably chewing my sprinkler heads because of the constant pain he was in. I could have bought a nice set of Enve wheels for the vets bill

The cone of shame

My Rotties had a share of that each over the years - with pink flowers painted out it nogal.

One week later and all is forgotten - they are not the evil parents who made me wear a plastic cone of shame and forced me to have 3 different pills a day... Actually, she's a completely different dog now, which makes me wonder just how much pain she must have been in.

Awesone news.

She must be dreaming of chasing that bike behind her on a single track in the woods.

Shees.. any advice on home grooming.. I have a rescue that bites everyone at a the doggy salon ( he has trust issues and doesn't like strangers or the gardener).. so I cant send him there and I always end up giving him a bad haircut?
