So I have been away for work for two weeks, and we are going on vacation from Friday until 1 July. My wife left our two kids on the farm last week. This means that I will not see them for about 6 weeks. I miss them so much already. Being coastal dogs they are already suffering in the Karoo winter. My mother in law gives them a lot of love, so at least we're not worried about them.

there was a bit of sadness this weekend when we decided to rehome our (used to be little) rescue dog lilly...who turned out being an out and out africanas hunting dog. Beautiful loving dog...but just needing waaay to much space that our little garden could offer. She has gone from our little 800m2 property to a beautiful smallholding with all sorts of wilds to keep her entertained and to be able to stretch her legs. Ultimately we decided it was the best thing for her

I know the feeling. I feel guilty leaving my lot alone for a weekend!

I'm going away for the long weekend. Fudge will come with, but the rest will have to stay. I'll have to ask my neighbours son to pop in occasionally.

Feel bad about it, but the cats and Max can't come with us.

On a sadder note, that bloody JR took out 2 of my chickens over the weekend. She now knows that she must keep away from them

Thick as thieves, these two...but mostly just thick!

Ghost and Scar have bonded well, and seem to cruise around a lot. Scar hasn't been so keen on the leash by himself, but seeing Ghost head out the gate, and with the chance of him being left behind, he's quickly gotten used to walkies!
