Eish Ppls are sick! And then there was a scam on gumtree this week using an "abused" dog as the drawcard! Think at least the dog was made up.

Good luck with Squamish TW!

My red cat's tongue wound got infected - poor baby must've been so sore. Took her to my local vet ( specialist across the peninsula) and very nicely he only charged me for the meds. But now she needs to be manhandled twice a day to get the pills in but at least she is eating again and seems happier. Loving this weather cos she gets to cuddle with her couch potato mum... (Lucky it gets me back in the good books cos I'm the one doing the manhandling)

Hey all, thanks for the messages. The issue with the neighbour is long-running. He waged war on me and his other two immediate neighbours over our dogs some time back. I'll never be able to prove he did anything. But this matter will be sorted out...

Anyway, the vet just called to say Squamish is going under the knife for the second time this morning. Holding paws!

Sorry to see this Barry, hope he's better. What goes around comes around, karma will get them.

Don't know where to put this, here I guess. The first calf of the season was born yesterday, so the family and I went to check on the little chap, so he got lots of pics taken of him.

Morning all! Ta for the posts! Squamish is very sedate, and should be home today. Going to be a mission keeping him calm and not chasing a ball! He's still got some way to go, and the vet can't guarantee how successful the ops he will still have to have will be, but we're holding paws for him :-)

Dogs provided a much-needed distraction from things this weekend...

Scar continued on his quest dispel the "boxers are cute" thing when tackled a piece of rawhide...

It really was one of those beaut late-winter morns...

...and a pretty balmy evening too, and I shared a sunset with my hounds...

Meanwhile, down on Durbs, the mates of mine who took in Spencer last year had a braai, and as always, I get sent pics of the "pup" when they do! He's such a lovely looking woof. Really was the pick of the litter...

Hey guys, please spare a thought for Squamish. I got home last night from hospital - my mother's in ICU after a knee op - to find his leg badly cut up, tendons and ligaments severed. I have to make a decision on what we are going to do with him in the next couple of hours.

Oh nooooo!!

I only saw this now Tumbles. How is he? How horrendous for you.

Having a crazy dog hating neighbor is my worst fear - especially with my lot when they get howling.

Thankfully my neighbours love them - especially Molly - sometimes they just come round to visit her!

And sorry - I meant to ask how Mary is as well?

Been a stressful weekend for you.

Been an awful week...! But I have somehow managed to get through with the help of the wonderful women in my life :-)Mary is good. The weekend with her was torrid. Today was a complete sea change. She's out of ICU, and hoping to be home by the weekend.Squamish is home. His recovery - if it works - is likely to be as long as as Mary's, so we're in it for a while still. Will post a pic of him later - taking a breather between visits to health facilities! Just in case anyone wonders, Mary isn't a pet; she's my mum... :-)

As promised yesterday, here are two pics I snapped as he left the vet and was put in the car...which, I may just point had just had its inside cleaned for the second time since the weekend!

He's had to be confined to the bathroom during the day. He's quite sedated and didn't mind me laying him down there this morning after feeding him and doing his meds. He spent last night peacefully on the couch...didn't move once. Got to keep him that way for three weeks. Back to the vet every four days for new dressings. Then we see which way we go with his recovery...

Pics like that make you realise where the term "sick as a dog" comes from.

Shame that cone looks so uncomfortable.

Nix, he's so far out of it, that the cone doesn't bother him right now. Sure it will though, as the med dosages drop.
