It is so strange how quick one get attached to your fur babies!!

And rescues are extra special. My one rescue dog was my shadow, if I stopped too quickly she would bump into the back of my legs. Sadly she crossed Rainbow Bridge a few months ago but I think I might be emotionally now ready to adopt another to our happy clan soon

You get some strange/amazing cats.

I once adopted a feral kitten, and she turned into the most amazing animal. She did not mind water at all, got into the bath with me by herself, and made her comfortable on my chest. She swam with me (people at the pool almost got an heart attack when she jumped into the water to get to me.)

Worked with me on my car, drove with me everywhere.

She unfortunately drowned in a pond close to us when she went duck hunting. I was in tears for days.....

Ouch man - sounds like she was one in a million.

In post 5784 the 2nd pic is of Julius. About 10 now. At his annual checkup in April everything was 100. About a month later we felt a lump, diagnosed as cancer in the bones. Not treatable. While at the coast he started to struggle to breath. X-rays today show it has moved quickly into the lungs.

Vet said we must choose a day to let him sleep. Busy buying some Dros ribs for his dinner tonight. Will be a week to be remembered.

Quite tough actually even if it is my 3rd Rotties that I have to euthanase.
