Looking at the profiles posted it looks like they have made this race easier....

When we I originaly did this race it started at the Steeldale PnP and you had a nice climb up to the Silverball after the first km.

Funny how the wind is always towards the last part

Enjoy

First time i did this race (2000) it was 116km and held beginning of May starting at the school just off Kliprivier , first time i had been to Suikerbos suffered like never before and then still had the steps and back up Kliprivier to the school to do.

If memory serves me right ( be kind now Scotman and Sweiss!) you are correct Scotty, from there it moved to the PickNPay as Sweiss says and then after that it even started from Nasrec and ended at Gold Reef City (that I guess was 120+k's and it was damn tough!)

Finished right down the list last year and I'm starting in AL.May just fall back to DL. I entered very early. I think that's got something to do with it.

Ah, the good old days.

You said it, the days when men were men and they rode steel bicycles

I hate fast starts and that start up to the silverball was always a mission if you were trying to stay with the front of your group...

Also did the one from the school in Kibler park (think?) towards the Lido after the start was moved from Steeldale, but somehow that start was tame and dont remember much about

Yeah, but the finish back up Butcher's Hill was murder.

As a matter of interest, what was your D2D time? It looks like race for victory groups are not based on previous results, they seem very mixed up

Obviously there are about 300-450 riders (assuming 100-150 per batch) faster than you

Nope,

As I said I started in BL last year and finished in the front of the bunch.

Only 540 in the results for last year.

I did ask for reseeding , will see what happened.
