racman Posted December 10, 2007 Share My first year of cycling after an 8year layoff (and countless kg lay-on!!)  Highlights:  1) The DC - amazing event, much better than Argus IMHO2) First Argus 3) Watching Robbie get so close and eventually win the Tdf Stage. Even the "boss" was shouting with excitement!! Lowlights: 1) Trying to keep up with Colonel and his "boys in pink" and C50 at this weekends TdWinelands and getting dropped at about 15km (or was it only 5 - hanging around at the back of the bus didn't help but it was the doors were "closed" ). I knew I shouldn't have done the 80km ride on saturday but it's the first race that I felt like packing it in after 20km !!! Underachiever Posted December 10, 2007 Share Highlights:- Cycling over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco - Buying my first MTB, and cycling over the Swartbergpass- Doing both the 94.7 road and MTB races- Buying MTB's for my wife & son and see them enjoy the freedom of cycling Lowlights:- Desperately wanted to do PBP, buy could not qualify due to work commitments. IanJ Posted December 10, 2007 Share If I had to single out a single event it would have to be finishing the Etape du Tour.Apart from that though I think that just the fact that my performance is still improving with every race is a highlight for me, especially at the ripe old age of 47. Introducing more people to cycling also counts as a highlight and riding a 2nd lap of the 94.7 with those friends was probably more of a highlight than the race itself. Bring on 2008.  Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Icarus Posted December 10, 2007 Share Highlight: Started cycling about a year ago - 1st Argus, 1st DC etc etc... ummm come to think of it cycling has been my highlight this year!!! Lowlight/Bummer of the year: Burger cycle race - had an accident, broke my collar bone and am banned from getting on the bike for 6 weeks!  Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
