Since when is Warner gone?

Not yet but there's the fact that the CEO is also on his way here and there is this: https://es.pn/2GeYPXh via ESPNCricinfo app John Wylie who seems to be indicating that some players will indeed be heading home sooner rather than later.

4batsmen

mitchell marsh bats @ 6

7 bowlers to pick 5 from!!

starc

lyon

hazlewood

cummins

holland/richardson/sayers

whilst he might be their next test captain, cricinfo should probably update Tim Paine's headshot

You might have to add both Bancroft and Lyon to the scrapheap list. Essentially it comes down to this:

1 No one in the squad

2 Handscomb

3 Khawaja

4 No one in squad

5 S Marsh

6 M Marsh

7 Paine © *

8 Starc

9 Cummins

10 Sayers/Holland

11 Hazelwood

At best the Aussies are going to have to call in two players perhaps more depending on the result of the preliminary investigation. So ja not a nice time to be a part of the Aussie selection panel.

I must say, kudos to the Aussies for coming down hard on their cricket team. It could've been too easy to just say ja but everyone else is doing it, we're just the only ones who got caught.

Amidst all the drama, I'm a little worried about the third test. It seems pretty certain that Aus will field a very different team, with a couple of guys flying out from Aus before the game. Nobody is giving them a chance, so I'm sure these guys are going to play with a no fear attitude.. If SA is over complacent the new look Aussies might just surprise them.

On the other hand, I hope they crumble and we mop the floor with them!

don't forget that steve smith has been averaging 80+ for the last 2/3 years. in this series he is 23 - one of the reasons we're ahead.

(but in saying that Faf is averaging 11!)

then you go and cry when it doesn't suit you?

Lehmann said the abuse, typically directed at the nearest Australian fielder to the boundary when the South African side was batting on days one and two, was the worst his team had witnessed anywhere in the world. "We accept it all around the world, but as soon as they cross the line and they talk about players' families the whole time and getting abused like that, it's just not on," Lehmann said. "There's been various incidents throughout the Test series but this one has taken the cake.

"I think it's been disgraceful. You're talking about abuse of various players and their families and personal abuse, it's not on at a cricket ground anywhere around the world, not just here, it shouldn't happen. You can have the banter, that's fine, banter is good-natured, fun by crowds but they've gone too far here. We've written to Cricket South Africa, Cricket Australia have done that, we'll see their response, but it's been poor. We'll see what happens, hopefully something."

In response, South Africa's acting chief executive, Thabang Moroe, said fans on both sides needed to behave. "Cricket South Africa and the players appreciate the fans' passionate support displayed at all our games," he said. "However the events that transpired today were not tolerable and something that we don't want to see at any of our Test matches.

Guess who's getting fired today? Karma is a real b1tsh

Yeah, Smith was amazing in the Ashes at home. Faf seriously needs to score some runs. And so does Amla, although he's getting starts at least.

I hope they keep Morkel for the last test at the Wanderers instead of bringing Ngidi back. Morkel deserves one last crack, and surely you can't drop the man of the match? Ngidi's time will come..

I would also drop Bavuma, send him to play some franchise cricket and get his form back. Give Theunis de Bruyn another chance. Although I suspect this won't be done because of "numbers"...

Ja nee the Aussie love having a good double standard don't they! One rule for them and another for everybody else.

As for Boof Lehmann, I am wondering whether or not Tugga's harshest comments on the ball tampering issue is a veiled dig at Boof. As the coach he is next to the Captain as the guy that helps drive the culture of the team and well, we all know how the Aussies have behaved under him.
